48:18:1llaqadCertainly
48:18:2raḍīᵃAllah was pleased
48:18:4ʕanⁱwith
48:18:5ₐlmuʾminīnᵃthe believers
48:18:7yubāyiʕūnakᵃthey pledged allegiance to you
48:18:8taḥtᵃunder
48:18:9ₐlššajaraẗⁱthe tree,
48:18:10faʕalimᵃand He knew
48:18:12(was) in
48:18:13qulūbihimtheir hearts,
48:18:14faʾanzalᵃso He sent down
48:18:15ₐlssakīnaẗᵃthe tranquility
48:18:17waʾaθābahumand rewarded them
48:18:18fatḥaⁿ(with) a victory
۝١٨
Certainly was Allah pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you, [O Muhammad], under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquillity upon them and rewarded them with an imminent conquest
48:19:1wamaġānimᵃAnd spoils of war
48:19:2kaθīraẗᵃⁿmuch
48:19:3yaʾḫuðūnahāthat they will take;
48:19:4wakānᵃand is
48:19:5ₐllahᵘAllah
48:19:6ʕazīzaⁿAll-Mighty,
48:19:7ḥakīmaⁿAll-Wise.
۝١٩
And much war booty which they will take. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.
48:20:1waʕadakumᵘAllah has promised you
48:20:3maġānimᵃspoils of war
48:20:4kaθīraẗᵃⁿmuch
48:20:5taʾḫuðūnahāthat you will take it,
48:20:6faʕajjalᵃand He has hastened
48:20:9wakaffᵃand has withheld
48:20:10ʾaydīᵃ(the) hands
48:20:11ₐlnnāsⁱ(of) the people
48:20:12ʕankumfrom you -
48:20:13walitakūnᵃthat it may be
48:20:14ʾāyaẗᵃⁿa sign
48:20:15llilmuʾminīnᵃfor the believers
48:20:16wayahdiyakumand He may guide you
48:20:17ṣirāṭaⁿ(to the) Path
48:20:18mmustaqīmaⁿStraight.
۝٢٠
Allah has promised you much booty that you will take [in the future] and has hastened for you this [victory] and withheld the hands of people from you - that it may be a sign for the believers and [that] He may guide you to a straight path.
48:21:1waʾuḫrāAnd others,
48:21:3taqdirūyou had power
48:21:4ʕalayhāover them
48:21:6ʾaḥāṭᵃAllah encompassed
48:21:9wakānᵃand is
48:21:10ₐllahᵘAllah
48:21:13šayʾⁱⁿthings
48:21:14qadīraⁿAll-Powerful.
۝٢١
And [He promises] other [victories] that you were [so far] unable to [realize] which Allah has already encompassed. And ever is Allah, over all things, competent.
48:22:2qātalakumᵘfight you,
48:22:3ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
48:22:4kafarūdisbelieve,
48:22:5lawallawusurely they would turn
48:22:6ₐlʾadbārᵃthe backs.
48:22:7θummᵃThen
48:22:9yajidūnᵃthey would find
48:22:10waliyyaⁿany protector
48:22:11walāand not
48:22:12naṣīraⁿany helper.
۝٢٢
And if those [Makkans] who disbelieve had fought you, they would have turned their backs [in flight]. Then they would not find a protector or a helper.
48:23:1sunnaẗᵃ(The established) way
48:23:2ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah
48:23:3ₐllatīwhich
48:23:4qadpassed away
48:23:6minbefore,
48:23:8walanand never
48:23:9tajidᵃyou will find
48:23:10lisunnaẗⁱin (the) way of Allah
48:23:12tabdīlaⁿany change.
۝٢٣
[This is] the established way of Allah which has occurred before. And never will you find in the way of Allah any change.
48:24:1wahuwᵃAnd He
48:24:2ₐllaðī(is) the One Who
48:24:3kaffᵃwithheld
48:24:4ʾaydiyahumtheir hands
48:24:5ʕankumfrom you
48:24:6waʾaydiyakumand your hands
48:24:7ʕanhumfrom them
48:24:8bibaṭnⁱwithin
48:24:9makkaẗᵃMakkah,
48:24:10minᵐafter
48:24:13ʾaẓfarakumHe gave you victory
48:24:14ʕalayhimover them.
48:24:15wakānᵃAnd is
48:24:16ₐllahᵘAllah
48:24:17bimāof what
48:24:19baṣīraⁿAll-Seer.
۝٢٤
And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them within [the area of] Makkah after He caused you to overcome them. And ever is Allah of what you do, Seeing.
48:25:1humᵘThey
48:25:2ₐllaðīnᵃ(are) those who
48:25:3kafarūdisbelieved
48:25:4waṣaddūkumand hindered you
48:25:5ʕanⁱfrom
48:25:6ₐlmasjidⁱAl-Masjid Al-Haraam
48:25:8waₐlhadāᵃwhile the offering
48:25:9maʕkūfaⁿ(was) prevented
48:25:11yabluġᵃreaching
48:25:12maḥillahuits place (of sacrifice).
48:25:13walawlāAnd if not
48:25:14rijālᵘⁿ(for) men
48:25:15mmuʾminūnᵃbelieving
48:25:16wanisāʾᵘⁿand women
48:25:17mmuʾminātᵘⁿbelieving
48:25:19taʕlamūhumyou knew them
48:25:21taṭaʾūhumyou may trample them
48:25:22fatuṣībakumand would befall you
48:25:23mminhumfrom them
48:25:24mmaʕarraẗᵘⁿᵐany harm
48:25:25biġayrⁱwithout
48:25:26ʕilmⁱⁿknowledge.
48:25:27lliyudḫilᵃThat Allah may admit
48:25:30raḥmatihiHis Mercy
48:25:32yašāʾᵘHe wills.
48:25:34tazayyalūthey had been apart
48:25:35laʕaððabnāsurely, We would have punished
48:25:36ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
48:25:37kafarūdisbelieved
48:25:38minhumamong them
48:25:39ʕaðābaⁿ(with) a punishment
48:25:40ʾalīmaⁿpainful.
۝٢٥
They are the ones who disbelieved and obstructed you from al-Masjid al-Haram while the offering was prevented from reaching its place of sacrifice. And if not for believing men and believing women whom you did not know - that you might trample them and there would befall you because of them dishonor without [your] knowledge - [you would have been permitted to enter Makkah]. [This was so] that Allah might admit to His mercy whom He willed. If they had been apart [from them], We would have punished those who disbelieved among them with painful punishment
48:26:2jaʕalᵃhad put
48:26:3ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
48:26:4kafarūdisbelieved
48:26:6qulūbihimᵘtheir hearts
48:26:7ₐlḥamiyyaẗᵃdisdain -
48:26:8ḥamiyyaẗᵃ(the) disdain
48:26:9ₐljāhiliyyaẗⁱ(of the time of) ignorance.
48:26:10faʾanzalᵃThen Allah sent down
48:26:12sakīnatahuHis tranquility
48:26:14rasūlihiHis Messenger
48:26:15waʕalāand upon
48:26:16ₐlmuʾminīnᵃthe believers
48:26:17waʾalzamahumand made them adhere
48:26:18kalimaẗᵃ(to the) word
48:26:19ₐlttaqwā(of) righteousness,
48:26:20wakānūand they were
48:26:21ʾaḥaqqᵃmore deserving
48:26:23waʾahlahāand worthy of it.
48:26:24wakānᵃAnd is
48:26:25ₐllahᵘAllah
48:26:26bikullⁱof every
48:26:27šayʾⁱⁿthing
48:26:28ʕalīmaⁿAll-Knower.
۝٢٦
When those who disbelieved had put into their hearts chauvinism - the chauvinism of the time of ignorance. But Allah sent down His tranquillity upon His Messenger and upon the believers and imposed upon them the word of righteousness, and they were more deserving of it and worthy of it. And ever is Allah, of all things, Knowing.
48:27:1llaqadCertainly,
48:27:2ṣadaqᵃAllah has fulfilled
48:27:4rasūlahᵘHis Messenger's
48:27:5ₐlrruʾyāvision
48:27:6biₐlḥaqqⁱin truth.
48:27:7latadḫulunnᵃSurely, you will enter
48:27:8ₐlmasjidᵃAl-Masjid Al-Haraam
48:27:11šāʾᵃAllah wills,
48:27:13ʾāminīnᵃsecure,
48:27:14muḥalliqīnᵃhaving shaved
48:27:15ruʾūsakumyour heads
48:27:16wamuqaṣṣirīnᵃand shortened,
48:27:18taḫāfūnᵃfearing.
48:27:19faʕalimᵃBut He knew
48:27:23fajaʕalᵃand He made
48:27:24minbesides
48:27:27fatḥaⁿa victory
۝٢٧
Certainly has Allah showed to His Messenger the vision in truth. You will surely enter al-Masjid al-Haram, if Allah wills, in safety, with your heads shaved and [hair] shortened, not fearing [anyone]. He knew what you did not know and has arranged before that a conquest near [at hand].
48:28:2ₐllaðī(is) the One Who
48:28:3ʾarsalᵃ(has) sent
48:28:4rasūlahuHis Messenger
48:28:5biₐlhudāwith guidance
48:28:6wadīnⁱand (the) religion,
48:28:7ₐlḥaqqⁱthe true
48:28:8liyuẓhirahuthat He (may) make it prevail
48:28:10ₐlddīnⁱthe religions
48:28:12wakafāAnd sufficient is
48:28:14šahīdaⁿ(as) a Witness.
۝٢٨
It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion. And sufficient is Allah as Witness.
48:29:1mmuḥammadᵘⁿMuhammad
48:29:2rrasūlᵘ(is the) Messenger of Allah,
48:29:4waₐllaðīnᵃand those who
48:29:5maʕahu(are) with him
48:29:6ʾašiddāʾᵘ(are) firm
48:29:7ʕalāagainst
48:29:8ₐlkuffārⁱthe disbelievers
48:29:9ruḥamāʾᵘand merciful
48:29:10baynahumamong themselves.
48:29:11tarāhumYou see them
48:29:12rukkaʕaⁿbowing
48:29:13sujjadaⁿand prostrating,
48:29:14yabtaġūnᵃseeking
48:29:15faḍlaⁿBounty
48:29:16mminᵃfrom Allah
48:29:18wariḍwānaⁿand pleasure.
48:29:19sīmāhumTheir mark
48:29:20(is) on
48:29:21wujūhihimtheir faces
48:29:23ʾaθarⁱ(the) trace
48:29:24ₐlssujūdⁱ(of) the prostration.
48:29:26maθaluhum(is) their similitude
48:29:28ₐlttawrāẗⁱthe Taurah.
48:29:29wamaθaluhumAnd their similitude
48:29:31ₐlʾinjīlⁱthe Injeel,
48:29:32kazarʕⁱⁿ(is) like a seed
48:29:33ʾaḫrajᵃ(which) sends forth
48:29:34šaṭʾahuits shoot
48:29:35faʾāzarahuthen strengthens it,
48:29:36faᵢstaġlaẓᵃthen it becomes thick
48:29:37faᵢstawāand it stands
48:29:40yuʕjibᵘdelighting
48:29:41ₐlzzurrāʕᵃthe sowers
48:29:42liyaġīẓᵃthat He (may) enrage
48:29:43bihimᵘby them
48:29:44ₐlkuffārᵃthe disbelievers.
48:29:45waʕadᵃAllah has promised
48:29:47ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
48:29:50ₐlṣṣāliḥātⁱrighteous deeds
48:29:51minhumamong them,
48:29:52mmaġfiraẗᵃⁿforgiveness
48:29:53waʾajraⁿand a reward
48:29:54ʕaẓīmᵃⁿᵐāgreat.
۝٢٩
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allah and [His] pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers - so that Allah may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward.
