۞
47:33:1yāʾayyuhāO you who believe!
47:33:5ₐllahᵃAllah
47:33:6waʾaṭīʕūand obey
47:33:7ₐlrrasūlᵃthe Messenger,
47:33:8walāand (do) not
47:33:10ʾaʕmālakumyour deeds.
۝٣٣
O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and do not invalidate your deeds.
47:34:1ʾinnᵃIndeed,
47:34:2ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
47:34:3kafarūdisbelieve
47:34:4waṣaddūand turn away
47:34:6sabīlⁱ(the) way
47:34:7ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah,
47:34:8θummᵃthen
47:34:10wahumwhile they
47:34:11kuffārᵘⁿ(were) disbelievers,
47:34:13yaġfirᵃwill Allah forgive
۝٣٤
Indeed, those who disbelieved and averted [people] from the path of Allah and then died while they were disbelievers - never will Allah forgive them.
47:35:1falāSo (do) not
47:35:5ₐlssalmⁱpeace
47:35:6waʾantumᵘwhile you
47:35:7ₐlʾaʕlawnᵃ(are) superior,
47:35:8waₐllahᵘand Allah
47:35:9maʕakum(is) with you
47:35:10walanand never
47:35:11yatirakumwill deprive you
47:35:12ʾaʕmālakum(of) your deeds.
۝٣٥
So do not weaken and call for peace while you are superior; and Allah is with you and will never deprive you of [the reward of] your deeds.
47:36:2ₐlḥayawẗᵘthe life
47:36:3ₐlddunyā(of) the world
47:36:4laʕibᵘⁿ(is) play
47:36:5walahwᵘⁿand amusement.
47:36:6waʾinAnd if
47:36:7tuʾminūyou believe
47:36:8watattaqūand fear (Allah)
47:36:9yuʾtikumHe will give you
47:36:10ʾujūrakumyour rewards
47:36:11walāand not
47:36:13ʾamwālakum(for) your wealth.
۝٣٦
[This] worldly life is only amusement and diversion. And if you believe and fear Allah, He will give you your rewards and not ask you for your properties.
47:37:2yasʾalkumūhāHe were to ask you for it
47:37:3fayuḥfikumand press you,
47:37:4tabḫalūyou will withhold
47:37:5wayuḫrijand He will bring forth
47:37:6ʾaḍġānakumyour hatred.
۝٣٧
If He should ask you for them and press you, you would withhold, and He would expose your unwillingness.
47:38:1hāʾantumHere you are -
47:38:6sabīlⁱ(the) way
47:38:7ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah -
47:38:8faminkumbut among you
47:38:9mman(are some) who
47:38:10yabḫalᵘwithhold,
47:38:11wamanand whoever
47:38:12yabḫalwithholds,
47:38:13faʾinnamāthen only
47:38:14yabḫalᵘhe withholds
47:38:17waₐllahᵘBut Allah
47:38:18ₐlġanīīᵘ(is) Free of need,
47:38:19waʾantumᵘwhile you
47:38:20ₐlfuqarāʾᵘ(are) the needy.
47:38:21waʾinAnd if
47:38:22tatawallawyou turn away
47:38:23yastabdilHe will replace you
47:38:24qawmaⁿ(with) a people
47:38:25ġayrakumother than you,
47:38:26θummᵃthen
47:38:28yakūnūthey will be
47:38:29ʾamθālakum(the) likes of you.
۝٣٨
Here you are - those invited to spend in the cause of Allah - but among you are those who withhold [out of greed]. And whoever withholds only withholds [benefit] from himself; and Allah is the Free of need, while you are the needy. And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people; then they will not be the likes of you.
48
الفتح
The Victory
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
48:1:1ʾinnāIndeed,
48:1:2fataḥnāWe have given victory,
48:1:3lakᵃto you
48:1:4fatḥaⁿa victory
48:1:5mmubīnaⁿclear.
۝١
Indeed, We have given you, [O Muhammad], a clear conquest
48:2:1lliyaġfirᵃThat may forgive
48:2:2lakᵃfor you
48:2:3ₐllahᵘAllah
48:2:5taqaddamᵃpreceded
48:2:7ðanᵐbikᵃyour sins
48:2:8wamāand what
48:2:9taʾaḫḫarᵃwill follow
48:2:10wayutimmᵃand complete
48:2:12ʕalaykᵃupon you
48:2:13wayahdiyakᵃand guide you
48:2:14ṣirāṭaⁿ(to) a Path
48:2:15mmustaqīmaⁿStraight,
۝٢
That Allah may forgive for you what preceded of your sin and what will follow and complete His favor upon you and guide you to a straight path
48:3:1wayanṣurakᵃAnd Allah may help you
48:3:3naṣraⁿ(with) a help
48:3:4ʕazīzaⁿmighty.
۝٣
And [that] Allah may aid you with a mighty victory.
48:4:2ₐllaðī(is) the One Who
48:4:3ʾanzalᵃsent down
48:4:4ₐlssakīnaẗᵃ[the] tranquility
48:4:5in(to)
48:4:6qulūbⁱ(the) hearts
48:4:7ₐlmuʾminīnᵃ(of) the believers
48:4:8liyazdādūthat they may increase
48:4:9ʾīmānaⁿ(in) faith
48:4:10mmaʕᵃwith
48:4:11ʾīmānihimtheir faith.
48:4:12walillahⁱAnd for Allah
48:4:13junūdᵘ(are the) hosts
48:4:14ₐlssamāwātⁱ(of) the heavens
48:4:15waₐlʾarḍⁱand the earth,
48:4:16wakānᵃand Allah
48:4:18ʕalīmaⁿ(is) All-Knower,
48:4:19ḥakīmaⁿAll-Wise.
۝٤
It is He who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers that they would increase in faith along with their [present] faith. And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth, and ever is Allah Knowing and Wise.
48:5:1lliyudḫilᵃThat He may admit
48:5:2ₐlmuʾminīnᵃthe believing men
48:5:3waₐlmuʾminātⁱand the believing women
48:5:4jannātⁱⁿ(to) Gardens
48:5:7taḥtihāunderneath them
48:5:8ₐlʾanhārᵘthe rivers
48:5:9ḫālidīnᵃ(to) abide forever
48:5:10fīhātherein,
48:5:11wayukaffirᵃand (to) remove
48:5:12ʕanhumfrom them
48:5:13sayyiʾātihimtheir misdeeds,
48:5:14wakānᵃand is
48:5:15ðālikᵃthat
48:5:16ʕindᵃwith
48:5:17ₐllahⁱAllah
48:5:18fawzaⁿa success
48:5:19ʕaẓīmaⁿgreat.
۝٥
[And] that He may admit the believing men and the believing women to gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide therein eternally and remove from them their misdeeds - and ever is that, in the sight of Allah, a great attainment -
48:6:1wayuʕaððibᵃAnd He (may) punish
48:6:2ₐlmunāfiqīnᵃthe hypocrite men
48:6:3waₐlmunāfiqātⁱand the hypocrite women
48:6:4waₐlmušrikīnᵃand the polytheist men
48:6:5waₐlmušrikātⁱand the polytheist women,
48:6:6ₐlẓẓānnīnᵃwho assume
48:6:7biₐllahⁱabout Allah
48:6:8ẓannᵃan assumption
48:6:9ₐlssawʾⁱevil.
48:6:10ʕalayhimUpon them
48:6:11dāʾiraẗᵘ(is) a turn
48:6:12ₐlssawʾⁱ(of) evil,
48:6:13waġaḍibᵃand Allah's wrath (is)
48:6:15ʕalayhimupon them
48:6:16walaʕanahumand He has cursed them
48:6:17waʾaʕaddᵃand prepared
48:6:18lahumfor them
48:6:21maṣīraⁿ(is the) destination.
۝٦
And [that] He may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women, and the polytheist men and polytheist women - those who assume about Allah an assumption of evil nature. Upon them is a misfortune of evil nature; and Allah has become angry with them and has cursed them and prepared for them Hell, and evil it is as a destination.
48:7:1walillahⁱAnd for Allah
48:7:2junūdᵘ(are the) hosts
48:7:3ₐlssamāwātⁱ(of) the heavens
48:7:4waₐlʾarḍⁱand the earth.
48:7:5wakānᵃand Allah
48:7:7ʕazīzaⁿ(is) All-Mighty,
48:7:8ḥakīmaⁿAll-Wise.
۝٧
And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.
48:8:1ʾinnāIndeed, We
48:8:2ʾarsalnākᵃ[We] have sent you
48:8:3šāhidaⁿ(as) a witness
48:8:4wamubašširaⁿand (as) a bearer of glad tidings
48:8:5wanaðīraⁿand (as) a warner,
۝٨
Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner
48:9:1llituʾminūThat you may believe
48:9:2biₐllahⁱin Allah
48:9:3warasūlihiand His Messenger
48:9:4watuʕazzirūhᵘand (may) honor him
48:9:5watuwaqqirūhᵘand respect him
48:9:6watusabbiḥūhᵘand glorify Him
48:9:7bukraẗᵃⁿmorning
48:9:8waʾaṣīlaⁿand evening.
۝٩
That you [people] may believe in Allah and His Messenger and honor him and respect the Prophet and exalt Allah morning and afternoon.
48:10:1ʾinnᵃIndeed,
48:10:2ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
48:10:3yubāyiʕūnakᵃpledge allegiance to you
48:10:5yubāyiʕūnᵃthey pledge allegiance
48:10:6ₐllahᵃ(to) Allah.
48:10:7yadᵘ(The) Hand
48:10:8ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah
48:10:9fawqᵃ(is) over
48:10:10ʾaydīhimtheir hands.
48:10:11famanThen whoever
48:10:12nnakaθᵃbreaks (his oath)
48:10:13faʾinnamāthen only
48:10:14yankuθᵘhe breaks
48:10:17wamanand whoever
48:10:20ʕāhadᵃhe has covenanted
48:10:21ʕalayhᵘ(with)
48:10:22ₐllahᵃAllah,
48:10:23fasayuʾtīhⁱsoon He will give him
48:10:24ʾajraⁿa reward
48:10:25ʕaẓīmaⁿgreat.
۝١٠
Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, [O Muhammad] - they are actually pledging allegiance to Allah. The hand of Allah is over their hands. So he who breaks his word only breaks it to the detriment of himself. And he who fulfills that which he has promised Allah - He will give him a great reward.
48:11:1sayaqūlᵘWill say
48:11:2lakᵃto you
48:11:3ₐlmuḫallafūnᵃthose who remained behind
48:11:5ₐlʾaʕrābⁱthe Bedouins,
48:11:6šaġalatnā"Kept us busy
48:11:7ʾamwālunāour properties
48:11:8waʾahlūnāand our families,
48:11:9faᵢstaġfirso ask forgiveness
48:11:10lanāfor us."
48:11:11yaqūlūnᵃThey say
48:11:12biʾalsinatihimwith their tongues
48:11:16qulūbihimtheir hearts.
48:11:18faman"Then who
48:11:19yamlikᵘhas power
48:11:20lakumfor you
48:11:21mminᵃagainst
48:11:22ₐllahⁱAllah
48:11:23šayʾaⁿ(in) anything,
48:11:25ʾarādᵃHe intends
48:11:27ḍarraⁿharm
48:11:29ʾarādᵃHe intends
48:11:31nafʕᵃⁿᵐāa benefit?
48:11:34ₐllahᵘAllah
48:11:35bimāof what
48:11:37ḫabīrᵃⁿᵐāAll-Aware.
۝١١
Those who remained behind of the bedouins will say to you, "Our properties and our families occupied us, so ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not within their hearts. Say, "Then who could prevent Allah at all if He intended for you harm or intended for you benefit? Rather, ever is Allah, with what you do, Acquainted.
48:12:2ẓanantumyou thought
48:12:4llan(would) never
48:12:5yanqalibᵃreturn
48:12:6ₐlrrasūlᵘthe Messenger
48:12:7waₐlmuʾminūnᵃand the believers
48:12:9ʾahlīhimtheir families
48:12:10ʾabadaⁿever,
48:12:11wazuyyinᵃthat was made fair-seeming
48:12:14qulūbikumyour hearts.
48:12:15waẓanantumAnd you assumed
48:12:16ẓannᵃan assumption
48:12:17ₐlssawʾⁱevil,
48:12:18wakuntumand you became
48:12:19qawmᵃⁿᵐāa people
48:12:20būraⁿruined."
۝١٢
But you thought that the Messenger and the believers would never return to their families, ever, and that was made pleasing in your hearts. And you assumed an assumption of evil and became a people ruined."
48:13:1wamanAnd whoever
48:13:2llam(has) not believed
48:13:4biₐllahⁱin Allah
48:13:5warasūlihiand His Messenger
48:13:6faʾinnāthen indeed, We
48:13:7ʾaʕtadnā[We] have prepared
48:13:8lilkāfirīnᵃfor the disbelievers
48:13:9saʕīraⁿa Blazing Fire.
۝١٣
And whoever has not believed in Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers a Blaze.
48:14:1walillahⁱAnd for Allah
48:14:2mulkᵘ(is the) kingdom
48:14:3ₐlssamāwātⁱ(of) the heavens
48:14:4waₐlʾarḍⁱand the earth.
48:14:5yaġfirᵘHe forgives
48:14:7yašāʾᵘHe wills
48:14:8wayuʕaððibᵘand punishes
48:14:10yašāʾᵘHe wills.
48:14:11wakānᵃAnd is
48:14:12ₐllahᵘAllah
48:14:13ġafūraⁿOft-Forgiving,
48:14:14rraḥīmaⁿMost Merciful.
۝١٤
And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
48:15:1sayaqūlᵘWill say
48:15:2ₐlmuḫallafūnᵃthose who remained behind
48:15:4ᵢnṭalaqtumyou set forth
48:15:5ʾilātowards
48:15:6maġānimᵃ(the) spoils of war
48:15:7litaʾḫuðūhāto take it,
48:15:8ðarūnā"Allow us
48:15:9nattabiʕkum(to) follow you."
48:15:10yurīdūnᵃThey wish
48:15:13kalāmᵃ(the) Words
48:15:14ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah.
48:15:17tattabiʕūnāwill you follow us.
48:15:19qālᵃAllah said
48:15:21minbefore."
48:15:23fasayaqūlūnᵃThen they will say,
48:15:25taḥsudūnanāyou envy us."
48:15:29yafqahūnᵃunderstanding
48:15:31qalīlaⁿa little.
۝١٥
Those who remained behind will say when you set out toward the war booty to take it, "Let us follow you." They wish to change the words of Allah. Say, "Never will you follow us. Thus did Allah say before." So they will say, "Rather, you envy us." But [in fact] they were not understanding except a little.
48:16:2llilmuḫallafīnᵃto those who remained behind
48:16:4ₐlʾaʕrābⁱthe Bedouins,
48:16:5satudʕawnᵃ"You will be called
48:16:7qawmⁱⁿa people,
48:16:8ʾulīpossessors of military might
48:16:10šadīdⁱⁿgreat;
48:16:11tuqātilūnahumyou will fight them,
48:16:13yuslimūnᵃthey will submit.
48:16:14faʾinThen if
48:16:15tuṭīʕūyou obey,
48:16:16yuʾtikumᵘAllah will give you
48:16:18ʾajraⁿa reward
48:16:19ḥasanaⁿgood;
48:16:20waʾinbut if
48:16:21tatawallawyou turn away
48:16:23tawallaytumyou turned away
48:16:24mminbefore,
48:16:26yuʕaððibkumHe will punish you
48:16:27ʕaðābaⁿ(with) a punishment
48:16:28ʾalīmaⁿpainful."
۝١٦
Say to those who remained behind of the bedouins, "You will be called to [face] a people of great military might; you may fight them, or they will submit. So if you obey, Allah will give you a good reward; but if you turn away as you turned away before, He will punish you with a painful punishment."
48:17:1llaysᵃNot is
48:17:3ₐlʾaʕmāthe blind
48:17:4ḥarajᵘⁿany blame
48:17:5walāand not
48:17:7ₐlʾaʕrajⁱthe lame
48:17:8ḥarajᵘⁿany blame
48:17:9walāand not
48:17:11ₐlmarīḍⁱthe sick
48:17:12ḥarajᵘⁿany blame.
48:17:13wamanAnd whoever
48:17:14yuṭiʕⁱobeys
48:17:15ₐllahᵃAllah
48:17:16warasūlahuand His Messenger,
48:17:17yudḫilhᵘHe will admit him
48:17:18jannātⁱⁿ(to) Gardens
48:17:21taḥtihāunderneath them
48:17:22ₐlʾanhārᵘthe rivers,
48:17:23wamanbut whoever
48:17:24yatawallᵃturns away,
48:17:25yuʕaððibhᵘHe will punish him
48:17:26ʕaðābaⁿ(with) a punishment
48:17:27ʾalīmaⁿpainful.
۝١٧
There is not upon the blind any guilt or upon the lame any guilt or upon the ill any guilt [for remaining behind]. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger - He will admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow; but whoever turns away - He will punish him with a painful punishment.
