16:111:1yawmᵃ(On) the Day
16:111:2taʾtī(when) will come
16:111:3kullᵘevery
16:111:4nafsⁱⁿsoul
16:111:5tujādilᵘpleading
16:111:8watuwaffāand will be paid in full
16:111:9kullᵘevery
16:111:10nafsⁱⁿsoul
16:111:14(will) not
16:111:15yuẓlamūnᵃbe wronged.
۝١١١
On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged.
16:112:1waḍarabᵃAnd Allah sets forth
16:112:3maθalaⁿa similitude
16:112:4qaryaẗᵃⁿ(of) a town
16:112:5kānat(that) was
16:112:6ʾāminaẗᵃⁿsecure
16:112:7mmuṭmaʾinnaẗᵃⁿand content,
16:112:8yaʾtīhācoming to it
16:112:9rizquhāits provision
16:112:10raġadaⁿ(in) abundance
16:112:13makānⁱⁿplace,
16:112:14fakafaratbut it denied
16:112:15biʾanʕumⁱ(the) Favors of Allah,
16:112:17faʾaðāqahāso Allah made it taste
16:112:19libāsᵃ(the) garb
16:112:20ₐljūʕⁱ(of) the hunger
16:112:21waₐlḫawfⁱand the fear
16:112:22bimāfor what
16:112:23kānūthey used (to)
۝١١٢
And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing.
16:113:1walaqadAnd certainly
16:113:2jāʾahumcame to them
16:113:3rasūlᵘⁿa Messenger
16:113:4mminhumfrom among them
16:113:5fakaððabūhᵘbut they denied him;
16:113:6faʾaḫaðahumᵘso seized them
16:113:7ₐlʕaðābᵘthe punishment
16:113:8wahumwhile they
16:113:9ẓālimūnᵃ(were) wrongdoers.
۝١١٣
And there had certainly come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they denied him; so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.
16:114:3razaqakumᵘAllah has provided you -
16:114:5ḥalālaⁿlawful
16:114:6ṭayyibaⁿand good.
16:114:7waᵤškurūAnd be grateful
16:114:8niʕmatᵃ(for the) Favor
16:114:9ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah,
16:114:12ʾiyyāhᵘHim Alone
16:114:13taʕbudūnᵃyou worship.
۝١١٤
Then eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And be grateful for the favor of Allah, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.
16:115:2ḥarramᵃHe has forbidden
16:115:4ₐlmaytaẗᵃthe dead animal
16:115:5waₐlddamᵃand the blood
16:115:6walaḥmᵃand the flesh
16:115:7ₐlḫinzīrⁱ(of) the swine,
16:115:9ʾuhillᵃhas been dedicated
16:115:10liġayrⁱto other (than)
16:115:12bihi[with it].
16:115:13famanⁱBut (if) one
16:115:14ᵢḍṭurrᵃ(is) forced -
16:115:15ġayrᵃwithout (being)
16:115:16bāġⁱⁿdisobedient,
16:115:18ʕādⁱⁿa transgressor -
16:115:19faʾinnᵃthen indeed,
16:115:21ġafūrᵘⁿ(is) Oft-Forgiving,
16:115:22rraḥīmᵘⁿMost Merciful.
۝١١٥
He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
16:116:1walāAnd (do) not
16:116:3limāfor that which
16:116:4taṣifᵘassert
16:116:5ʾalsinatukumᵘyour tongues,
16:116:6ₐlkaðibᵃthe lie,
16:116:8ḥalālᵘⁿ(is) lawful
16:116:9wahāðāand this
16:116:10ḥarāmᵘⁿ(is) forbidden,"
16:116:11llitaftarūso that you invent
16:116:14ₐlkaðibᵃthe lie.
16:116:15ʾinnᵃIndeed,
16:116:16ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
16:116:20ₐlkaðibᵃthe lie,
16:116:21they will not succeed.
۝١١٦
And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allah. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed.
16:117:1matāʕᵘⁿAn enjoyment
16:117:2qalīlᵘⁿlittle
16:117:3walahumand for them
16:117:4ʕaðābᵘⁿ(is) a punishment
16:117:5ʾalīmᵘⁿpainful.
۝١١٧
[It is but] a brief enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment.
16:118:2ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
16:118:4ḥarramnāWe have forbidden
16:118:6qaṣaṣnāWe related
16:118:7ʕalaykᵃto you
16:118:8minbefore.
16:118:11ẓalamnāhumWe wronged them
16:118:13kānūthey used (to)
16:118:14ʾanfusahumthemselves
۝١١٨
And to those who are Jews We have prohibited that which We related to you before. And We did not wrong them [thereby], but they were wronging themselves.
16:119:1θummᵃThen
16:119:2ʾinnᵃindeed,
16:119:3rabbakᵃyour Lord,
16:119:4lillaðīnᵃto those who
16:119:7bijahālaẗⁱⁿin ignorance,
16:119:8θummᵃthen
16:119:13waʾaṣlaḥūand corrected themselves -
16:119:14ʾinnᵃindeed,
16:119:15rabbakᵃyour Lord,
16:119:16minᵐafter that
16:119:18laġafūrᵘⁿ(is) surely Oft-Forgiving,
16:119:19rraḥīmᵘⁿMost Merciful.
۝١١٩
Then, indeed your Lord, to those who have done wrong out of ignorance and then repent after that and correct themselves - indeed, your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful.
16:120:1ʾinnᵃIndeed,
16:120:4ʾummaẗᵃⁿa nation
16:120:5qānitaⁿobedient
16:120:6llillahⁱto Allah
16:120:7ḥanīfaⁿupright,
16:120:9yakᵘhe was
16:120:11ₐlmušrikīnᵃthe polytheists.
۝١٢٠
Indeed, Abraham was a [comprehensive] leader, devoutly obedient to Allah, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate others with Allah.
16:121:1šākiraⁿThankful
16:121:2lliʾanʕumihⁱfor His favors.
16:121:3ᵢjtabāhᵘHe chose him
16:121:4wahadāhᵘand guided him
16:121:6ṣirāṭⁱⁿthe way
16:121:7mmustaqīmⁱⁿstraight.
۝١٢١
[He was] grateful for His favors. Allah chose him and guided him to a straight path.
16:122:1waʾātaynāhᵘAnd We gave him
16:122:3ₐlddunyāthe world
16:122:4ḥasanaẗᵃⁿgood,
16:122:5waʾinnahuand indeed, he
16:122:7ₐlʾāḫiraẗⁱthe Hereafter
16:122:8laminᵃ(he) will surely (be) among
16:122:9ₐlṣṣāliḥīnᵃthe righteous.
۝١٢٢
And We gave him good in this world, and indeed, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.
16:123:1θummᵃThen
16:123:2ʾawḥaynāWe revealed
16:123:3ʾilaykᵃto you,
16:123:4ʾanⁱthat,
16:123:5ᵢttabiʕ"You follow
16:123:6millaẗᵃ(the) religion
16:123:7ʾibrāhīmᵃ(of) Ibrahim
16:123:8ḥanīfaⁿupright;
16:123:9wamāand not
16:123:10kānᵃhe was
16:123:12ₐlmušrikīnᵃthe polytheists."
۝١٢٣
Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah.
16:124:2juʕilᵃwas appointed
16:124:3ₐlssabtᵘthe Sabbath
16:124:5ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
16:124:7fīhⁱin it.
16:124:8waʾinnᵃAnd indeed,
16:124:9rabbakᵃyour Lord
16:124:10layaḥkumᵘwill surely judge
16:124:11baynahumbetween them
16:124:12yawmᵃ(on) the Day
16:124:13ₐlqiyāmaẗⁱ(of) the Resurrection
16:124:15kānūthey used (to)
16:124:16fīhⁱ[in it]
۝١٢٤
The sabbath was only appointed for those who differed over it. And indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.
16:125:1ᵤdʕᵘCall
16:125:3sabīlⁱ(the) way
16:125:4rabbikᵃ(of) your Lord
16:125:5biₐlḥikmaẗⁱwith the wisdom
16:125:6waₐlmawʕiẓaẗⁱand the instruction
16:125:7ₐlḥasanaẗⁱthe good,
16:125:8wajādilhumand discuss with them
16:125:9biₐllatīin that
16:125:11ʾaḥsanᵘ(is) best.
16:125:12ʾinnᵃIndeed,
16:125:13rabbakᵃyour Lord,
16:125:15ʾaʕlamᵘ(is) most knowing
16:125:17ḍallᵃhas strayed
16:125:20wahuwᵃAnd He
16:125:21ʾaʕlamᵘ(is) most knowing
16:125:22biₐlmuhtadīnᵃof the guided ones.
۝١٢٥
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.
16:126:2ʕāqabtumyou retaliate,
16:126:3faʕāqibūthen retaliate
16:126:4bimiθlⁱwith the like
16:126:5of what
16:126:6ʕūqibtumyou were afflicted
16:126:7bihiwith [it].
16:126:9ṣabartumyou are patient,
16:126:10lahuwᵃsurely (it) is
16:126:11ḫayrᵘⁿbetter
16:126:12llilṣṣābirīnᵃfor those who are patient.
۝١٢٦
And if you punish [an enemy, O believers], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient - it is better for those who are patient.
16:127:1waᵢṣbirAnd be patient
16:127:2wamāand not
16:127:3ṣabrukᵃ(is) your patience
16:127:5biₐllahⁱfrom Allah.
16:127:6walāAnd (do) not
16:127:9walāand (do) not
16:127:12ḍayqⁱⁿdistress
16:127:14yamkurūnᵃthey plot.
۝١٢٧
And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire.
16:128:1ʾinnᵃIndeed,
16:128:2ₐllahᵃAllah
16:128:3maʕᵃ(is) with
16:128:4ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
16:128:5ᵢttaqawfear (Him)
16:128:6wwaₐllaðīnᵃand those who
16:128:8mmuḥsinūnᵃ(are) good-doers.
۝١٢٨
Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.
