۝١٧
Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded?
16:18:1waʾinAnd if

16:19:5wamāand what
16:19:6tuʕlinūnᵃyou reveal.
۝١٩
And Allah knows what you conceal and what you declare.
16:20:1waₐllaðīnᵃAnd those whom
16:20:2yadʕūnᵃthey invoke
16:20:3minbesides
16:20:5ₐllahⁱAllah
16:20:7yaḫluqūnᵃthey create
16:20:8šayʾaⁿanything,
16:20:9wahumbut (are) themselves
16:20:10yuḫlaqūnᵃcreated.
۝٢٠
And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created.
16:21:1ʾamwātᵘⁿ(They are) dead
16:21:2ġayrᵘnot alive.
16:21:4wamāAnd not
16:21:5yašʕurūnᵃthey perceive
16:21:7yubʕaθūnᵃthey will be resurrected.
۝٢١
They are, [in fact], dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected.
16:22:2ʾilāhᵘⁿ(is) God
16:22:3wāḥidᵘⁿOne.
16:22:4faₐllaðīnᵃBut those who
16:22:5(do) not

16:22:7biₐlʾāḫiraẗⁱin the Hereafter,
16:22:8qulūbuhumtheir hearts

16:22:10wahumand they
16:22:11mmustakbirūnᵃ(are) arrogant.
۝٢٢
Your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant.
16:23:1No doubt
16:23:3ʾannᵃthat
16:23:4ₐllahᵃAllah
16:23:7yusirrūnᵃthey conceal
16:23:8wamāand what
16:23:9yuʕlinūnᵃthey reveal.
16:23:10ʾinnahuIndeed, He
16:23:11(does) not
16:23:12yuḥibbᵘlove
16:23:13ₐlmustakbirīnᵃthe arrogant ones.
۝٢٣
Assuredly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant.
16:24:1waʾiðāAnd when
16:24:2qīlᵃit is said
16:24:3lahumto them,
16:24:5ʾanzalᵃhas your Lord sent down?
16:24:8ʾasāṭīrᵘ"Tales
16:24:9ₐlʾawwalīnᵃ(of) the ancient."
۝٢٤
And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" They say, "Legends of the former peoples,"
16:25:1liyaḥmilūThat they may bear
16:25:2ʾawzārahumtheir own burdens
16:25:3kāmilaẗᵃⁿ(in) full
16:25:4yawmᵃon (the) Day
16:25:5ₐlqiyāmaẗⁱ(of) the Resurrection,
16:25:7ʾawzārⁱthe burdens
16:25:8ₐllaðīnᵃ(of) those whom
16:25:9yuḍillūnahumthey misled [them]
16:25:10biġayrⁱwithout
16:25:11ʕilmⁱⁿknowledge.
16:25:12ʾalāUnquestionably,
16:25:14(is) what
16:25:15yazirūnᵃthey will bear.
۝٢٥
That they may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear.
16:26:1qadVerily,
16:26:2makarᵃplotted
16:26:3ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
16:26:4min(were) before them,
16:26:6faʾatābut Allah came
16:26:8bunyānahum(at) their building
16:26:10ₐlqawāʕidⁱthe foundations,
16:26:11faḫarrᵃso fell
16:26:12ʕalayhimᵘupon them
16:26:13ₐlssaqfᵘthe roof
16:26:15fawqihimabove them,
16:26:16waʾatāhumᵘand came to them
16:26:17ₐlʕaðābᵘthe punishment
16:26:19ḥayθᵘwhere
16:26:20they (did) not perceive.
۝٢٦
Those before them had already plotted, but Allah came at their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive.
16:27:1θummᵃThen
16:27:2yawmᵃ(on) the Day
16:27:3ₐlqiyāmaẗⁱ(of) the Resurrection,
16:27:4yuḫzīhimHe will disgrace them
16:27:5wayaqūlᵘand say,
16:27:6ʾaynᵃ"Where
16:27:7šurakāʾīᵃ(are) My partners
16:27:8ₐllaðīnᵃthose (for) whom
16:27:9kuntumyou used (to)
16:27:11fīhim[in them]?"
16:27:12qālᵃWill say
16:27:13ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
16:27:14ʾūtūwere given
16:27:15ₐlʕilmᵃthe knowledge,
16:27:16ʾinnᵃ"Indeed,
16:27:17ₐlḫizāᵃthe disgrace,
16:27:18ₐlyawmᵃthis Day
16:27:19waₐlssūʾᵃand evil
16:27:20ʕalā(are) upon
16:27:21ₐlkāfirīnᵃthe disbelievers"
۝٢٧
Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and say, "Where are My 'partners' for whom you used to oppose [the believers]?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Indeed disgrace, this Day, and evil are upon the disbelievers" -
16:28:1ₐllaðīnᵃThose whom -
16:28:2tatawaffāhumᵘtake them in death
16:28:3ₐlmalāʾikaẗᵘthe Angels
16:28:4ẓālimī(while) wronging
16:28:5ʾanfusihimthemselves,
16:28:6faʾalqawuthen they would offer
16:28:7ₐlssalamᵃthe submission,
16:28:9kunnāwe were
16:28:12sūʾⁱⁿevil."
16:28:14ʾinnᵃindeed,
16:28:15ₐllahᵃAllah
16:28:16ʕalīmᵘⁿᵐ(is) All-Knower
16:28:17bimāof what
16:28:18kuntumyou used (to)
۝٢٨
The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], "We were not doing any evil." But, yes! Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what you used to do.
16:29:2ʾabwābᵃ(the) gates
16:29:3jahannamᵃ(of) Hell
16:29:4ḫālidīnᵃ(to) abide forever
16:29:6falabiʾsᵃSurely, wretched
16:29:7maθwā(is the) abode
16:29:8ₐlmutakabbirīnᵃ(of) the arrogant.
۝٢٩
So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant.
