۞
11:41:1waqālᵃAnd he said,
11:41:4bismⁱin the name
11:41:5ₐllahⁱof Allah
11:41:6majrāhā(is) its course
11:41:7wamursāhāand its anchorage.
11:41:8ʾinnᵃIndeed,
11:41:9rabbīmy Lord
11:41:10laġafūrᵘⁿ(is) certainly Oft-Forgiving,
11:41:11rraḥīmᵘⁿMost Merciful."
۝٤١
And [Noah] said, "Embark therein; in the name of Allah is its course and its anchorage. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful."
11:42:1wahīᵃAnd it
11:42:3bihimwith them
11:42:5mawjⁱⁿthe waves
11:42:6kaₐljibālⁱlike mountains,
11:42:7wanādāand Nuh called out
11:42:8nūḥᵘⁿ
11:42:9ᵢbnahu(to) his son,
11:42:10wakānᵃand he was
11:42:12maʕzilⁱⁿapart,
11:42:13yābunayyᵃ"O my son!
11:42:15mmaʕanāwith us
11:42:16walāand (do) not
11:42:18mmaʕᵃwith
11:42:19ₐlkāfirīnᵃthe disbelievers."
۝٤٢
And it sailed with them through waves like mountains, and Noah called to his son who was apart [from them], "O my son, come aboard with us and be not with the disbelievers."
11:43:1qālᵃHe said,
11:43:2saʾāwī"I will betake myself
11:43:4jabalⁱⁿa mountain,
11:43:5yaʕṣimunī(that) will save me
11:43:6minᵃfrom
11:43:7ₐlmāʾⁱthe water."
11:43:8qālᵃHe said,
11:43:9"(There is) no
11:43:10ʕāṣimᵃprotector
11:43:13ʾamrⁱthe Command of Allah
11:43:15ʾillāexcept,
11:43:16man(on) whom
11:43:17rraḥimᵃHe has mercy."
11:43:18waḥālᵃAnd came
11:43:19baynahumā(in) between them
11:43:20ₐlmawjᵘthe waves,
11:43:21fakānᵃso he was
11:43:22minᵃamong
11:43:23ₐlmuġraqīnᵃthe drowned.
۝٤٣
[But] he said, "I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the water." [Noah] said, "There is no protector today from the decree of Allah, except for whom He gives mercy." And the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned.
11:44:1waqīlᵃAnd it was said,
11:44:2yāʾarḍᵘ"O earth!
11:44:3ᵢblaʕīSwallow
11:44:4māʾakⁱyour water,
11:44:5wayāsamāʾᵘand O sky!
11:44:6ʾaqliʕīWithhold."
11:44:7waġīḍᵃAnd subsided
11:44:8ₐlmāʾᵘthe water,
11:44:9waquḍīᵃand was fulfilled
11:44:10ₐlʾamrᵘthe Command.
11:44:11waᵢstawatAnd it rested
11:44:13ₐljūdīīⁱthe Judi.
11:44:14waqīlᵃAnd it was said,
11:44:16llilqawmⁱwith the people
11:44:17ₐlẓẓālimīnᵃthe wrongdoers."
۝٤٤
And it was said, "O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold [your rain]." And the water subsided, and the matter was accomplished, and the ship came to rest on the [mountain of] Judiyy. And it was said, "Away with the wrongdoing people."
11:45:1wanādāAnd Nuh called
11:45:2nūḥᵘⁿ
11:45:3rrabbahu(to) his Lord
11:45:4faqālᵃand said,
11:45:5rabbⁱ"O my Lord!
11:45:6ʾinnᵃIndeed,
11:45:7ᵢbnīmy son
11:45:8min(is) of
11:45:9ʾahlīmy family,
11:45:10waʾinnᵃand indeed,
11:45:11waʕdakᵃYour promise
11:45:12ₐlḥaqqᵘ(is) true,
11:45:13waʾantᵃand You
11:45:14ʾaḥkamᵘ(are) the Most Just
11:45:15ₐlḥākimīnᵃ(of) the judges."
۝٤٥
And Noah called to his Lord and said, "My Lord, indeed my son is of my family; and indeed, Your promise is true; and You are the most just of judges!"
11:46:1qālᵃHe said,
11:46:2yānūḥᵘ"O Nuh!
11:46:3ʾinnahuIndeed, he
11:46:4laysᵃ(is) not
11:46:6ʾahlikᵃyour family;
11:46:7ʾinnahuindeed, [he]
11:46:8ʕamalᵘⁿ(his) deed
11:46:9ġayrᵘ(is) other than
11:46:10ṣāliḥⁱⁿrighteous,
11:46:11falāso (do) not
11:46:13(about) what
11:46:15lakᵃyou have
11:46:17ʕilmᵘⁿany knowledge.
11:46:18ʾinnīIndeed, I
11:46:19ʾaʕiẓukᵃadmonish you
11:46:21takūnᵃyou be
11:46:22minᵃamong
11:46:23ₐljāhilīnᵃthe ignorant."
۝٤٦
He said, "O Noah, indeed he is not of your family; indeed, he is [one whose] work was other than righteous, so ask Me not for that about which you have no knowledge. Indeed, I advise you, lest you be among the ignorant."
11:47:1qālᵃHe said,
11:47:2rabbⁱ"O my Lord!
11:47:3ʾinnīIndeed, I
11:47:4ʾaʕūðᵘseek refuge
11:47:5bikᵃin You,
11:47:7ʾasʾalakᵃI (should) ask You
11:47:12ʕilmᵘⁿknowledge.
11:47:13waʾillāAnd unless
11:47:14taġfirYou forgive
11:47:16watarḥamnīand You have mercy on me,
11:47:17ʾakunI will be
11:47:18mminᵃamong
11:47:19ₐlḫāsirīnᵃthe losers."
۝٤٧
[Noah] said, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers."
11:48:1qīlᵃIt was said,
11:48:2yānūḥᵘ"O Nuh!
11:48:3ᵢhbiṭGo down
11:48:4bisalāmⁱⁿwith peace
11:48:5mminnāfrom Us
11:48:6wabarakātⁱⁿand blessings
11:48:7ʕalaykᵃon you
11:48:9ʾumamⁱⁿthe nations
11:48:10mmimmanfrom those
11:48:11mmaʕakᵃwith you.
11:48:12waʾumamᵘⁿBut (to other) nations
11:48:13sanumattiʕuhumWe will grant enjoyment;
11:48:14θummᵃthen
11:48:15yamassuhumwill touch them
11:48:17ʕaðābᵘⁿa punishment
11:48:18ʾalīmᵘⁿpainful."
۝٤٨
It was said, "O Noah, disembark in security from Us and blessings upon you and upon nations [descending] from those with you. But other nations [of them] We will grant enjoyment; then there will touch them from Us a painful punishment."
11:49:2min(is) from
11:49:3ʾanᵐbāʾⁱthe news
11:49:4ₐlġaybⁱ(of) the unseen,
11:49:5nūḥīhā(which) We reveal
11:49:6ʾilaykᵃto you.
11:49:8kuntᵃyou were
11:49:9taʕlamuhāknowing it,
11:49:11walāand not
11:49:12qawmukᵃyour people
11:49:16faᵢṣbirSo be patient;
11:49:17ʾinnᵃindeed,
11:49:18ₐlʕāqibaẗᵃthe end
11:49:19lilmuttaqīnᵃ(is) for the God fearing."
۝٤٩
That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. You knew it not, neither you nor your people, before this. So be patient; indeed, the [best] outcome is for the righteous.
11:50:2ʕādⁱⁿAad
11:50:3ʾaḫāhum(We sent) their brother
11:50:5qālᵃHe said,
11:50:6yāqawmⁱ"O my people!
11:50:8ₐllahᵃAllah,
11:50:10lakum(is) for you
11:50:12ʾilāhⁱⁿgod,
11:50:13ġayruhuother than Him.
11:50:16ʾillā(are) but
11:50:17muftarūnᵃinventors.
۝٥٠
And to 'Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. You are not but inventors [of falsehood].
11:51:1yāqawmⁱO my people!
11:51:4ʕalayhⁱfor it
11:51:5ʾajraⁿany reward.
11:51:7ʾajrīᵃ(is) my reward
11:51:8ʾillāexcept
11:51:10ₐllaðīthe One Who
11:51:11faṭaranīcreated me.
11:51:12ʾafalāThen will not
11:51:13taʕqilūnᵃyou use reason?
۝٥١
O my people, I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason?
11:52:1wayāqawmⁱAnd O my people!
11:52:2ᵢstaġfirūAsk forgiveness
11:52:3rabbakum(of) your Lord,
11:52:4θummᵃthen
11:52:5tūbūturn in repentance
11:52:6ʾilayhⁱto Him.
11:52:7yursilⁱHe will send
11:52:8ₐlssamāʾᵃ(from) the sky (rain)
11:52:9ʕalaykumupon you
11:52:10mmidrāraⁿ(in) abundance
11:52:11wayazidkumand increase you
11:52:12quwwaẗᵃⁿ(in) strength
11:52:13ʾilā(added) to
11:52:14quwwatikumyour strength.
11:52:15walāAnd (do) not
11:52:17mujrimīnᵃ(as) criminals."
۝٥٢
And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength. And do not turn away, [being] criminals."
11:53:1qālūThey said,
11:53:2yāhūdᵘ"O Hud!
11:53:3You have not brought us
11:53:5bibayyinaẗⁱⁿclear proofs,
11:53:6wamāand not
11:53:8bitārikī(will) leave
11:53:9ʾālihatināour gods
11:53:11qawlikᵃyour saying,
11:53:12wamāand not
11:53:13naḥnᵘwe (are)
11:53:14lakᵃin you
11:53:15bimuʾminīnᵃbelievers.
۝٥٣
They said, "O Hud, you have not brought us clear evidence, and we are not ones to leave our gods on your say-so. Nor are we believers in you.
11:54:2nnaqūlᵘwe say,
11:54:3ʾillāexcept (that),
11:54:4ᵢʕtarākᵃhave seized you
11:54:5baʕḍᵘsome
11:54:6ʾālihatinā(of) our gods
11:54:7bisūʾⁱⁿwith evil."
11:54:8qālᵃHe said,
11:54:9ʾinnī"Indeed, I
11:54:10ʾušhidᵘ[I] call Allah to witness
11:54:12waᵢšhadūand (you) bear witness
11:54:13ʾannīthat I am
11:54:14barīʾᵘⁿinnocent
11:54:16tušrikūnᵃyou associate,
۝٥٤
We only say that some of our gods have possessed you with evil." He said, "Indeed, I call Allah to witness, and witness [yourselves] that I am free from whatever you associate with Allah
11:55:1minOther than Him.
11:55:3fakīdūnīSo plot against me
11:55:4jamīʕaⁿall together,
11:55:5θummᵃthen
11:55:6(do) not
11:55:7tunẓirūnⁱgive me respite.
۝٥٥
Other than Him. So plot against me all together; then do not give me respite.
11:56:1ʾinnīIndeed, I
11:56:2tawakkaltᵘ[I] put my trust
11:56:4ₐllahⁱAllah
11:56:5rabbīmy Lord,
11:56:6warabbikumand your Lord.
11:56:7mmā(There is) not
11:56:8minof a moving creature
11:56:12ʾāḫiðᵘⁿᵐhas grasp
11:56:13bināṣiyatihāof its forelock.
11:56:14ʾinnᵃIndeed,
11:56:17ṣirāṭⁱⁿa path
11:56:18mmustaqīmⁱⁿstraight.
۝٥٦
Indeed, I have relied upon Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no creature but that He holds its forelock. Indeed, my Lord is on a path [that is] straight."
11:57:2tawallawyou turn away,
11:57:3faqadthen verily
11:57:4ʾablaġtukumI have conveyed to you
11:57:6ʾursiltᵘI was sent
11:57:7bihiwith [it]
11:57:9wayastaḫlifᵘAnd my Lord will give succession
11:57:11qawmaⁿ(to) a people
11:57:12ġayrakumother than you,
11:57:13walāand not
11:57:14taḍurrūnahuyou will harm Him
11:57:15šayʾaⁿ(in) anything.
11:57:16ʾinnᵃIndeed,
11:57:20šayʾⁱⁿthings
11:57:21ḥafīẓᵘⁿa Guardian."
۝٥٧
But if they turn away, [say], "I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian."
11:58:1walammāAnd when
11:58:3ʾamrunāOur command,
11:58:6waₐllaðīnᵃand those who
11:58:8maʕahuwith him,
11:58:9biraḥmaẗⁱⁿby a Mercy
11:58:11wanajjaynāhumand We saved them
11:58:13ʕaðābⁱⁿa punishment
11:58:14ġalīẓⁱⁿsevere.
۝٥٨
And when Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us; and We saved them from a harsh punishment.
11:59:1watilkᵃAnd this
11:59:2ʕādᵘⁿ(was) Aad,
11:59:3jaḥadūthey rejected
11:59:4biʾāyātⁱ(the) Signs
11:59:5rabbihim(of) their Lord
11:59:6waʕaṣawand disobeyed
11:59:7rusulahuHis Messengers
11:59:8waᵢttabaʕūand followed
11:59:9ʾamrᵃ(the) command
11:59:10kullⁱ(of) every
11:59:11jabbārⁱⁿtyrant
11:59:12ʕanīdⁱⁿobstinate.
۝٥٩
And that was 'Aad, who rejected the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant.
11:60:1waʾutbiʕūAnd they were followed
11:60:3hāðihⁱthis
11:60:5laʕnaẗᵃⁿ(with) a curse
11:60:6wayawmᵃand (on the) Day
11:60:7ₐlqiyāmaẗⁱ(of) the Resurrection.
11:60:8ʾalāNo doubt!
11:60:9ʾinnᵃIndeed,
11:60:11kafarūdisbelieved
11:60:12rabbahumtheir Lord,
11:60:15lliʕādⁱⁿwith Aad,
11:60:16qawmⁱ(the) people
11:60:17hūdⁱⁿ(of) Hud.
۝٦٠
And they were [therefore] followed in this world with a curse and [as well] on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, 'Aad denied their Lord; then away with 'Aad, the people of Hud.
