2:44:1ʾataʾmurūnᵃDo you order

۝٤٩
And [recall] when We saved your forefathers from the people of Pharaoh, who afflicted you with the worst torment, slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.
2:50:1waʾiðAnd when
2:50:2faraqnāWe parted
2:50:3bikumᵘfor you
2:50:4ₐlbaḥrᵃthe sea,
2:50:5faʾanjaynākumthen We saved you,

۝٥٠
And [recall] when We parted the sea for you and saved you and drowned the people of Pharaoh while you were looking on.
2:51:1waʾiðAnd when
2:51:2wāʕadnāWe appointed
2:51:3mūsā(for) Musa
2:51:4ʾarbaʕīnᵃforty
2:51:5laylaẗᵃⁿnights.
2:51:6θummᵃThen
2:51:7ᵢttaḫaðtumᵘyou took
2:51:8ₐlʕijlᵃthe calf
2:51:9minᵐfrom
2:51:10baʕdihiafter him
2:51:12ẓālimūnᵃ(were) wrongdoers.
۝٥١
And [recall] when We made an appointment with Moses for forty nights. Then you took [for worship] the calf after him, while you were wrongdoers.
2:52:1θummᵃThen
2:52:2ʕafawnāWe forgave
2:52:4mminᵐfrom
2:52:5baʕdⁱafter
2:52:6ðālikᵃthat,
2:52:7laʕallakumso that you may
2:52:8taškurūnᵃ(be) grateful.
۝٥٢
Then We forgave you after that so perhaps you would be grateful.
2:53:1waʾiðAnd when

2:53:6laʕallakumperhaps you
2:53:7tahtadūnᵃ(would be) guided.
۝٥٣
And [recall] when We gave Moses the Scripture and criterion that perhaps you would be guided.
2:54:1waʾiðAnd when
2:54:2qālᵃsaid
2:54:4liqawmihito his people,
2:54:5yāqawmⁱ"O my people!

2:54:10ₐlʕijlᵃthe calf.
2:54:11fatūbūSo turn in repentance

2:54:21fatābᵃThen He turned

2:54:23ʾinnahuIndeed He!
2:54:25ₐlttawwābᵘ(is) the-returning,
2:54:26ₐlrraḥīmᵘthe Most Merciful.
۝٥٤
And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf [for worship]. So repent to your Creator and kill yourselves. That is best for [all of] you in the sight of your Creator." Then He accepted your repentance; indeed, He is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.
2:55:1waʾiðAnd when
2:55:2qultumyou said,
2:55:4lanNever
2:55:5nnuʾminᵃ(will) we believe
2:55:6lakᵃin you
2:55:8narāwe see
2:55:9ₐllahᵃAllah

2:55:11faʾaḫaðatkumᵘSo seized you
2:55:12ₐlṣṣāʕiqaẗᵘthe thunderbolt
2:55:13waʾantumwhile you
2:55:14tanẓurūnᵃ(were) looking.
۝٥٥
And [recall] when you said, "O Moses, we will never believe you until we see Allah outright"; so the thunderbolt took you while you were looking on.
2:56:1θummᵃThen
2:56:2baʕaθnākumWe revived you
2:56:3mminᵐfrom
2:56:4baʕdⁱafter
2:56:5mawtikumyour death,
2:56:6laʕallakumso that you may
2:56:7taškurūnᵃ(be) grateful.
۝٥٦
Then We revived you after your death that perhaps you would be grateful.
2:57:1waẓallalnāAnd We shaded
2:57:2ʕalaykumᵘ[over] you
2:57:3ₐlġamāmᵃ(with) [the] clouds
2:57:4waʾanzalnāand We sent down
2:57:5ʕalaykumᵘto you
2:57:6ₐlmannᵃ[the] manna
2:57:7waₐlssalwāand [the] quails,
2:57:10ṭayyibātⁱ(the) good things
2:57:12razaqnākumWe have provided you."
2:57:13wamāAnd not
2:57:14ẓalamūnāthey wronged Us,
2:57:17ʾanfusahum(to) themselves
2:57:18yaẓlimūnᵃdoing wrong.
۝٥٧
And We shaded you with clouds and sent down to you manna and quails, [saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you." And they wronged Us not - but they were [only] wronging themselves.
2:58:1waʾiðAnd when
2:58:2qulnāWe said,
2:58:4hāðihⁱthis
2:58:5ₐlqaryaẗᵃtown,
2:58:8ḥayθᵘwherever
2:58:9šiʾtumyou wish[ed]
2:58:10raġadaⁿabundantly,
2:58:11waᵤdḫulūand enter
2:58:12ₐlbābᵃthe gate
2:58:13sujjadaⁿprostrating.
2:58:15ḥiṭṭaẗᵘⁿ"Repentance."
2:58:16nnaġfirWe will forgive
2:58:18ḫaṭāyākumyour sins.
2:58:19wasanazīdᵘAnd We will increase
2:58:20ₐlmuḥsinīnᵃthe good-doers (in reward)."
۝٥٨
And [recall] when We said, "Enter this city and eat from it wherever you will in [ease and] abundance, and enter the gate bowing humbly and say, 'Relieve us of our burdens.' We will [then] forgive your sins for you, and We will increase the doers of good [in goodness and reward]."
2:59:1fabaddalᵃBut changed
2:59:2ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
2:59:3ẓalamūwronged
2:59:4qawlaⁿ(the) word
2:59:5ġayrᵃother (than)
2:59:6ₐllaðī(that) which
2:59:7qīlᵃwas said
2:59:8lahumto them;
2:59:9faʾanzalnāso We sent down
2:59:11ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
2:59:12ẓalamūwronged,
2:59:13rijzaⁿa punishment
2:59:15ₐlssamāʾⁱthe sky
2:59:16bimābecause
2:59:18yafsuqūnᵃdefiantly disobeying.
۝٥٩
But those who wronged changed [those words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them, so We sent down upon those who wronged a punishment from the sky because they were defiantly disobeying.
