۞
2:26:1ʾinnᵃIndeed,
2:26:2ₐllahᵃAllah
2:26:3(is) not
2:26:6yaḍribᵃset forth
2:26:7maθalaⁿan example
2:26:8mmā(like) even
2:26:9baʕūḍaẗᵃⁿ(of) a mosquito
2:26:10famāand (even) something
2:26:11fawqahāabove it.
2:26:12faʾammāThen as for
2:26:13ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
2:26:14ʾāmanūbelieved,
2:26:15fayaʕlamūnᵃ[thus] they will know
2:26:16ʾannahᵘthat it
2:26:17ₐlḥaqqᵘ(is) the truth
2:26:19rrabbihimtheir Lord.
2:26:20waʾammāAnd as for
2:26:21ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
2:26:22kafarūdisbelieved
2:26:23fayaqūlūnᵃ[thus] they will say
2:26:25ʾarādᵃ(did) intend
2:26:26ₐllahᵘAllah
2:26:27bihāðāby this
2:26:28maθalaⁿexample?
2:26:29yuḍillᵘHe lets go astray
2:26:32wayahdīand He guides
2:26:34kaθīraⁿmany.
2:26:35wamāAnd not
2:26:36yuḍillᵘHe lets go astray
2:26:38ʾillāexcept
2:26:39ₐlfāsiqīnᵃthe defiantly disobedient.
۝٢٦
Indeed, Allah is not timid to present an example - that of a mosquito or what is smaller than it. And those who have believed know that it is the truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say, "What did Allah intend by this as an example?" He misleads many thereby and guides many thereby. And He misleads not except the defiantly disobedient,
2:27:1ₐllaðīnᵃThose who
2:27:2yanquḍūnᵃbreak
2:27:3ʕahdᵃ(the) Covenant
2:27:4ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah
2:27:5minᵐfrom
2:27:6baʕdⁱafter
2:27:7mīθāqihiits ratification,
2:27:8wayaqṭaʕūnᵃand [they] cut
2:27:10ʾamarᵃhas ordered
2:27:11ₐllahᵘAllah
2:27:14yūṣalᵃbe joined
2:27:15wayufsidūnᵃand [they] spread corruption
2:27:17ₐlʾarḍⁱthe earth.
2:27:19humᵘthey
2:27:20ₐlḫāsirūnᵃ(are) the losers.
۝٢٧
Who break the covenant of Allah after contracting it and sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined and cause corruption on earth. It is those who are the losers.
2:28:2takfurūnᵃ(can) you disbelieve
2:28:3biₐllahⁱin Allah?
2:28:4wakuntumWhile you were
2:28:6faʾaḥyākumthen He gave you life;
2:28:7θummᵃthen
2:28:8yumītukumHe will cause you to die,
2:28:9θummᵃthen
2:28:10yuḥyīkumHe will give you life,
2:28:11θummᵃthen
2:28:12ʾilayhⁱto Him
2:28:13turjaʕūnᵃyou will be returned.
۝٢٨
How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned.
2:29:2ₐllaðī(is) the One Who
2:29:3ḫalaqᵃcreated
2:29:4lakumfor you
2:29:6(is) in
2:29:7ₐlʾarḍⁱthe earth,
2:29:8jamīʕaⁿall.
2:29:9θummᵃMoreover
2:29:10ᵢstawāHe turned
2:29:12ₐlssamāʾⁱthe heaven
2:29:13fasawwāhunnᵃand fashioned them
2:29:14sabʕᵃseven
2:29:15samāwātⁱⁿheavens.
2:29:16wahuwᵃAnd He
2:29:17bikullⁱof every
2:29:18šayʾⁱⁿthing
2:29:19ʕalīmᵘⁿ(is) All-Knowing.
۝٢٩
It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things.
2:30:1waʾiðAnd when
2:30:2qālᵃsaid
2:30:3rabbukᵃyour Lord
2:30:4lilmalāʾikaẗⁱto the angels,
2:30:5ʾinnī"Indeed, I (am)
2:30:6jāʕilᵘⁿgoing to place
2:30:8ₐlʾarḍⁱthe earth
2:30:9ḫalīfaẗᵃⁿa vicegerent,
2:30:11ʾatajʕalᵘ"Will You place
2:30:13man(one) who
2:30:14yufsidᵘwill spread corruption
2:30:16wayasfikᵘand will shed
2:30:17ₐlddimāʾᵃ[the] blood[s],
2:30:18wanaḥnᵘwhile we,
2:30:19nusabbiḥᵘ[we] glorify (You)
2:30:20biḥamdikᵃwith Your praises
2:30:21wanuqaddisᵘand we sanctify
2:30:22lakᵃ[to] You."
2:30:23qālᵃHe said,
2:30:24ʾinnī"Indeed, I
2:30:25ʾaʕlamᵘ[I] know
2:30:28taʕlamūnᵃyou know."
۝٣٠
And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
2:31:1waʕallamᵃAnd He taught
2:31:2ʾādamᵃAdam
2:31:3ₐlʾasmāʾᵃthe names -
2:31:4kullahāall of them.
2:31:5θummᵃThen
2:31:6ʕaraḍahumHe displayed them
2:31:8ₐlmalāʾikaẗⁱthe angels,
2:31:9faqālᵃthen He said,
2:31:10ʾanᵐbiʾūnī"Inform Me
2:31:11biʾasmāʾⁱof (the) names
2:31:12hāʾulāʾⁱ(of) these,
2:31:15ṣādiqīnᵃtruthful."
۝٣١
And He taught Adam the names - all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, "Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful."
2:32:1qālūThey said,
2:32:2subḥānakᵃ"Glory be to You!
2:32:4ʕilmᵃknowledge
2:32:5lanā(is) for us
2:32:6ʾillāexcept
2:32:8ʕallamtanāYou have taught us.
2:32:9ʾinnakᵃIndeed You!
2:32:11ₐlʕalīmᵘ(are) the All-Knowing,
2:32:12ₐlḥakīmᵘthe All-Wise.
۝٣٢
They said, "Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise."
2:33:1qālᵃHe said,
2:33:2yāʾādamᵘ"O Adam!
2:33:3ʾanᵐbiʾhumInform them
2:33:4biʾasmāʾihimof their names."
2:33:5falammāAnd when
2:33:6ʾanᵐbaʾahumhe had informed them
2:33:7biʾasmāʾihimof their names,
2:33:8qālᵃHe said,
2:33:9ʾalam"Did not
2:33:12ʾinnīIndeed, I
2:33:13ʾaʕlamᵘ[I] know
2:33:14ġaybᵃ(the) unseen
2:33:15ₐlssamāwātⁱ(of) the heavens
2:33:16waₐlʾarḍⁱand the earth,
2:33:17waʾaʕlamᵘand I know
2:33:19tubdūnᵃyou reveal
2:33:20wamāand what
2:33:21kuntumyou [were]
2:33:22taktumūnᵃconceal."
۝٣٣
He said, "O Adam, inform them of their names." And when he had informed them of their names, He said, "Did I not tell you that I know the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth? And I know what you reveal and what you have concealed."
2:34:1waʾiðAnd when
2:34:3lilmalāʾikaẗⁱto the angels,
2:34:4ᵤsjudū"Prostrate
2:34:5liʾādamᵃto Adam,"
2:34:6fasajadū[so] they prostrated
2:34:8ʾiblīsᵃIblis.
2:34:9ʾabāHe refused
2:34:10waᵢstakbarᵃand was arrogant
2:34:11wakānᵃand became
2:34:13ₐlkāfirīnᵃthe disbelievers.
۝٣٤
And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.
2:35:1waqulnāAnd We said,
2:35:2yāʾādamᵘ"O Adam!
2:35:4ʾantᵃyou
2:35:5wazawjukᵃand your spouse
2:35:6ₐljannaẗᵃ(in) Paradise,
2:35:7wakulāand [you both] eat
2:35:9raġadaⁿfreely
2:35:10ḥayθᵘ(from) wherever
2:35:11šiʾtumāyou [both] wish.
2:35:12walāBut do not
2:35:13taqrabā[you two] approach
2:35:14hāðihⁱthis
2:35:15ₐlššajaraẗᵃ[the] tree,
2:35:16fatakūnālest you [both] be
2:35:18ₐlẓẓālimīnᵃthe wrongdoers."
۝٣٥
And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."
2:36:1faʾazallahumāThen made [both of] them slip
2:36:2ₐlššayṭānᵘthe Shaitaan
2:36:3ʕanhāfrom it,
2:36:4faʾaḫrajahumāand he got [both of] them out
2:36:5mimmāfrom what
2:36:6kānāthey [both] were
2:36:7fīhⁱin [it].
2:36:8waqulnāAnd We said,
2:36:9ᵢhbiṭū"Go down (all of you),
2:36:10baʕḍukumsome of you
2:36:11libaʕḍⁱⁿto others
2:36:12ʕaduwwᵘⁿ(as) enemy;
2:36:13walakumand for you
2:36:15ₐlʾarḍⁱthe earth
2:36:16mustaqarrᵘⁿ(is) a dwelling place
2:36:17wamatāʕᵘⁿand a provision
2:36:19ḥīnⁱⁿa period."
۝٣٦
But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been. And We said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time."
2:37:1fatalaqqāThen received
2:37:2ʾādamᵘAdam
2:37:4rrabbihihis Lord
2:37:5kalimātⁱⁿwords,
2:37:6fatābᵃSo (his Lord) turned
2:37:7ʕalayhⁱtowards him.
2:37:8ʾinnahuIndeed He!
2:37:10ₐlttawwābᵘ(is) the Oft-returning (to mercy),
2:37:11ₐlrraḥīmᵘthe Most Merciful.
۝٣٧
Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.
2:38:1qulnāWe said,
2:38:2ᵢhbiṭū"Go down
2:38:4jamīʕaⁿall (of you),
2:38:5faʾimmāand when,
2:38:6yaʾtiyannakumcomes to you

2:38:8hudaⁿGuidance,
2:38:9famanthen whoever

2:38:13ḫawfᵘⁿfear
2:38:14ʕalayhim(will be) on them
2:38:15walāand not
2:38:17yaḥzanūnᵃwill grieve.
۝٣٨
We said, "Go down from it, all of you. And when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
2:39:1waₐllaðīnᵃAnd those
2:39:2kafarūwho disbelieve[d]
2:39:3wakaððabūand deny
2:39:4biʾāyātināOur Signs,
2:39:6ʾaṣḥābᵘ(are the) companions
2:39:7ₐlnnārⁱ(of) the Fire;
2:39:10ḫālidūnᵃ(will) abide forever."
۝٣٩
And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs - those will be companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally."
2:40:1yābanīO Children
2:40:2ʾisrāʾīlᵃ(of) Israel!
2:40:3ᵤðkurūRemember

۝٤١
And believe in what I have sent down confirming that which is [already] with you, and be not the first to disbelieve in it. And do not exchange My signs for a small price, and fear [only] Me.
2:42:1walāAnd (do) not
