۞
24:21:1yāʾayyuhāO you who believe!
24:21:4(Do) not
24:21:6ḫuṭuwātⁱ(the) footsteps
24:21:7ₐlššayṭānⁱ(of) the Shaitaan,
24:21:8wamanand whoever
24:21:10ḫuṭuwātⁱ(the) footsteps
24:21:11ₐlššayṭānⁱ(of) the Shaitaan
24:21:12faʾinnahuthen indeed, he
24:21:13yaʾmurᵘcommands
24:21:14biₐlfaḥšāʾⁱthe immorality
24:21:15waₐlmunkarⁱand the evil.
24:21:16walawlāAnd if not
24:21:17faḍlᵘ(for the) Grace of Allah
24:21:20waraḥmatuhuand His Mercy
24:21:22zakā(would) have been pure
24:21:23minkumamong you
24:21:25ʾaḥadⁱⁿ
24:21:26ʾabadaⁿever,
24:21:28ₐllahᵃAllah
24:21:29yuzakkīpurifies
24:21:31yašāʾᵘHe wills.
24:21:32waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
24:21:33samīʕᵘⁿ(is) All-Hearer,
24:21:34ʕalīmᵘⁿAll-Knower.
۝٢١
O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan - indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have been pure, ever, but Allah purifies whom He wills, and Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
24:22:1walāAnd not
24:22:2yaʾtalⁱlet swear
24:22:3ʾulūthose of virtue
24:22:5minkumamong you
24:22:6waₐlssaʕaẗⁱand the amplitude of means
24:22:9ʾulī(to) the near of kin,
24:22:11waₐlmasākīnᵃand the needy
24:22:12waₐlmuhājirīnᵃand the emigrants
24:22:14sabīlⁱ(the) way
24:22:15ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah.
24:22:16walyaʕfūAnd let them pardon
24:22:17walyaṣfaḥūand let them overlook.
24:22:18ʾalā(Do) not
24:22:19tuḥibbūnᵃyou like
24:22:21yaġfirᵃAllah should forgive
24:22:24waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
24:22:25ġafūrᵘⁿ(is) Oft-Forgiving,
24:22:26rraḥīmᵘⁿMost Merciful.
۝٢٢
And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allah, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
24:23:1ʾinnᵃIndeed,
24:23:2ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
24:23:4ₐlmuḥṣanātⁱthe chaste women,
24:23:5ₐlġāfilātⁱthe unaware women
24:23:6ₐlmuʾminātⁱ(and) the believing women,
24:23:7luʕinūare cursed
24:23:9ₐlddunyāthe world
24:23:10waₐlʾāḫiraẗⁱand the Hereafter.
24:23:11walahumAnd for them
24:23:12ʕaðābᵘⁿ(is) a punishment
24:23:13ʕaẓīmᵘⁿgreat.
۝٢٣
Indeed, those who [falsely] accuse chaste, unaware and believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter; and they will have a great punishment
24:24:1yawmᵃ(On a) Day,
24:24:2tašhadᵘwill bear witness
24:24:3ʕalayhimagainst them
24:24:4ʾalsinatuhumtheir tongues,
24:24:5waʾaydīhimand their hands
24:24:6waʾarjuluhumand their feet
24:24:7bimāfor what
24:24:9yaʕmalūnᵃ(to) do.
۝٢٤
On a Day when their tongues, their hands and their feet will bear witness against them as to what they used to do.
24:25:1yawmaʾiðⁱⁿThat Day,
24:25:2yuwaffīhimᵘAllah will pay them in full
24:25:4dīnahumᵘtheir recompense,
24:25:5ₐlḥaqqᵃthe due,
24:25:6wayaʕlamūnᵃand they will know
24:25:7ʾannᵃthat
24:25:8ₐllahᵃAllah,
24:25:10ₐlḥaqqᵘ(is) the Truth
24:25:11ₐlmubīnᵘthe Manifest.
۝٢٥
That Day, Allah will pay them in full their deserved recompense, and they will know that it is Allah who is the perfect in justice.
24:26:1ₐlḫabīθātᵘEvil women
24:26:2lilḫabīθīnᵃ(are) for evil men,
24:26:3waₐlḫabīθūnᵃand evil men
24:26:4lilḫabīθātⁱ(are) for evil women.
24:26:5waₐlṭṭayyibātᵘAnd good women
24:26:6lilṭṭayyibīnᵃ(are) for good men
24:26:7waₐlṭṭayyibūnᵃand good men
24:26:8lilṭṭayyibātⁱ(are) for good women.
24:26:10mubarraʾūnᵃ(are) innocent
24:26:12yaqūlūnᵃthey say.
24:26:13lahumFor them
24:26:14mmaġfiraẗᵘⁿ(is) forgiveness
24:26:15warizqᵘⁿand a provision
24:26:16karīmᵘⁿnoble.
۝٢٦
Evil words are for evil men, and evil men are [subjected] to evil words. And good words are for good men, and good men are [an object] of good words. Those [good people] are declared innocent of what the slanderers say. For them is forgiveness and noble provision.
24:27:2ₐllaðīnᵃwho
24:27:4(Do) not
24:27:6buyūtaⁿhouses
24:27:7ġayrᵃother (than)
24:27:8buyūtikumyour houses
24:27:10tastaʾnisūyou have asked permission
24:27:11watusallimūand you have greeted
24:27:13ʾahlihāits inhabitants.
24:27:15ḫayrᵘⁿ(is) best
24:27:17laʕallakumso that you may
24:27:18taðakkarūnᵃpay heed.
۝٢٧
O you who have believed, do not enter houses other than your own houses until you ascertain welcome and greet their inhabitants. That is best for you; perhaps you will be reminded.
24:28:1faʾinBut if
24:28:5ʾaḥadaⁿanyone,
24:28:6falāthen (do) not
24:28:7tadḫulūhāenter it
24:28:9yuʾðanᵃpermission has been given
24:28:11waʾinAnd if
24:28:12qīlᵃit is said
24:28:13lakumᵘto you
24:28:14ᵢrjiʕū"Go back,"
24:28:15faᵢrjiʕūthen go back;
24:28:17ʾazkā(is) purer
24:28:19waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
24:28:20bimāof what
24:28:22ʕalīmᵘⁿ(is) All-Knower.
۝٢٨
And if you do not find anyone therein, do not enter them until permission has been given you. And if it is said to you, "Go back," then go back; it is purer for you. And Allah is Knowing of what you do.
24:29:3junāḥᵘⁿ(is) any blame
24:29:6buyūtaⁿhouses
24:29:8maskūnaẗⁱⁿinhabited,
24:29:10matāʕᵘⁿ(is) a provision
24:29:12waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
24:29:15tubdūnᵃyou reveal
24:29:16wamāand what
24:29:17taktumūnᵃyou conceal.
۝٢٩
There is no blame upon you for entering houses not inhabited in which there is convenience for you. And Allah knows what you reveal and what you conceal.
24:30:2llilmuʾminīnᵃto the believing men
24:30:3yaġuḍḍūthey should lower
24:30:4mintheir gaze
24:30:6wayaḥfaẓūand they should guard
24:30:7furūjahumtheir chastity.
24:30:8ðālikᵃThat
24:30:9ʾazkā(is) purer
24:30:10lahumfor them.
24:30:11ʾinnᵃIndeed,
24:30:12ₐllahᵃAllah
24:30:13ḫabīrᵘⁿᵐ(is) All-Aware
24:30:14bimāof what
24:30:15yaṣnaʕūnᵃthey do.
۝٣٠
Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do.
24:31:1waqulAnd say
24:31:2llilmuʾminātⁱto the believing women
24:31:3yaġḍuḍnᵃ(that) they should lower
24:31:5ʾabṣārihinnᵃtheir gaze
24:31:6wayaḥfaẓnᵃand they should guard
24:31:7furūjahunnᵃtheir chastity,
24:31:8walāand not
24:31:9yubdīnᵃ(to) display
24:31:10zīnatahunnᵃtheir adornment
24:31:13ẓaharᵃis apparent
24:31:15walyaḍribnᵃAnd let them draw
24:31:16biḫumurihinnᵃtheir head covers
24:31:18juyūbihinnᵃtheir bosoms,
24:31:19walāand not
24:31:20yubdīnᵃ(to) display
24:31:21zīnatahunnᵃtheir adornment
24:31:23libuʕūlatihinnᵃto their husbands,
24:31:25ʾābāʾihinnᵃtheir fathers
24:31:27ʾābāʾⁱfathers
24:31:28buʕūlatihinnᵃ(of) their husbands
24:31:30ʾabnāʾihinnᵃtheir sons
24:31:33buʕūlatihinnᵃ(of) their husbands
24:31:35ʾiḫwānihinnᵃtheir brothers
24:31:38ʾiḫwānihinnᵃ(of) their brothers
24:31:41ʾaḫawātihinnᵃ(of) their sisters,
24:31:43nisāʾihinnᵃtheir women
24:31:47ʾaymānuhunnᵃtheir right hands
24:31:49ₐlttābiʕīnᵃthe attendants
24:31:50ġayrⁱhaving no physical desire
24:31:53minᵃamong
24:31:54ₐlrrijālⁱ[the] men
24:31:56ₐlṭṭiflⁱ[the] children
24:31:58lam(are) not
24:31:61ʕawrātⁱprivate aspects
24:31:62ₐlnnisāʾⁱ(of) the women.
24:31:63walāAnd not
24:31:64yaḍribnᵃlet them stamp
24:31:65biʾarjulihinnᵃtheir feet
24:31:66liyuʕlamᵃto make known
24:31:68yuḫfīnᵃthey conceal
24:31:70zīnatihinnᵃtheir adornment.
24:31:73ₐllahⁱAllah
24:31:74jamīʕaⁿaltogether
24:31:75ʾayyuhᵃO believers!
24:31:77laʕallakumSo that you may
24:31:78tufliḥūnᵃsucceed.
۝٣١
And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.
24:32:1waʾankiḥūAnd marry
24:32:2ₐlʾayāmāthe single
24:32:3minkumamong you
24:32:4waₐlṣṣāliḥīnᵃand the righteous
24:32:6ʕibādikumyour male slaves,
24:32:7waʾimāʾikumand your female slaves.
24:32:11yuġnihimᵘAllah will enrich them
24:32:14faḍlihiHis Bounty.
24:32:15waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
24:32:16wāsiʕᵘⁿ(is) All-Encompassing,
24:32:17ʕalīmᵘⁿAll-Knowing.
۝٣٢
And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
24:33:1walyastaʕfifⁱAnd let be chaste
24:33:2ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
24:33:3(do) not
24:33:5nikāḥaⁿ(means for) marriage
24:33:7yuġniyahumᵘAllah enriches them
24:33:10faḍlihiHis Bounty.
24:33:11waₐllaðīnᵃAnd those who
24:33:13ₐlkitābᵃthe writing
24:33:14mimmāfrom (those) whom
24:33:16ʾaymānukumyour right hands,
24:33:17fakātibūhumthen give them (the) writing
24:33:21ḫayraⁿany good
24:33:22waʾātūhumand give them
24:33:24mmālⁱthe wealth of Allah
24:33:27ʾātākumHe has given you.
24:33:28walāAnd (do) not
24:33:30fatayātikumyour slave girls
24:33:32ₐlbiġāʾⁱ[the] prostitution,
24:33:34ʾaradnᵃthey desire
24:33:35taḥaṣṣunaⁿchastity
24:33:36llitabtaġūthat you may seek
24:33:37ʕaraḍᵃtemporary gain
24:33:38ₐlḥayawẗⁱ(of) the life
24:33:39ₐlddunyā(of) the world.
24:33:40wamanAnd whoever
24:33:41yukrihhhunnᵃcompels them,
24:33:42faʾinnᵃthen indeed,
24:33:43ₐllahᵃAllah
24:33:44minᵐafter
24:33:46ʾikrāhihinnᵃtheir compulsion
24:33:47ġafūrᵘⁿ(is) Oft-Forgiving,
24:33:48rraḥīmᵘⁿMost Merciful.
۝٣٣
But let them who find not [the means for] marriage abstain [from sexual relations] until Allah enriches them from His bounty. And those who seek a contract [for eventual emancipation] from among whom your right hands possess - then make a contract with them if you know there is within them goodness and give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, to seek [thereby] the temporary interests of worldly life. And if someone should compel them, then indeed, Allah is [to them], after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful.
24:34:1walaqadAnd verily,
24:34:2ʾanzalnāWe have sent down
24:34:4ʾāyātⁱⁿVerses
24:34:5mmubayyinātⁱⁿclear,
24:34:6wamaθalaⁿand an example
24:34:8ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
24:34:9ḫalawpassed away
24:34:10minbefore you,
24:34:12wamawʕiẓaẗᵃⁿand an admonition
24:34:13llilmuttaqīnᵃfor those who fear (Allah).
۝٣٤
And We have certainly sent down to you distinct verses and examples from those who passed on before you and an admonition for those who fear Allah.
