5:97:1jaʕalᵃHas (been) made
5:97:2ₐllahᵘ(by) Allah
5:97:3ₐlkaʕbaẗᵃthe Kabah,
5:97:4ₐlbaytᵃthe House,
5:97:5ₐlḥarāmᵃthe Sacred,
5:97:6qiyāmaⁿan establishment
5:97:7llilnnāsⁱfor mankind
5:97:8waₐlššahrᵃand the month(s)
5:97:9ₐlḥarāmᵃ[the] sacred
5:97:10waₐlhadāᵃand the (animals) for offering
5:97:11waₐlqalāʾidᵃand the garlands.
5:97:12ðālikᵃThat (is)
5:97:13litaʕlamūso that you may know
5:97:14ʾannᵃthat
5:97:15ₐllahᵃAllah
5:97:18(is) in
5:97:19ₐlssamāwātⁱthe heavens
5:97:20wamāand what
5:97:21(is) in
5:97:22ₐlʾarḍⁱthe earth,
5:97:23waʾannᵃand that
5:97:24ₐllahᵃAllah
5:97:25bikullⁱof every
5:97:26šayʾⁱⁿthing
5:97:27ʕalīmᵘⁿ(is) All-Knowing.
۝٩٧
Allah has made the Ka'bah, the Sacred House, standing for the people and [has sanctified] the sacred months and the sacrificial animals and the garlands [by which they are identified]. That is so you may know that Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and that Allah is Knowing of all things.
5:98:2ʾannᵃthat
5:98:3ₐllahᵃAllah
5:98:4šadīdᵘ(is) severe
5:98:5ₐlʕiqābⁱ(in) punishment
5:98:6waʾannᵃand that
5:98:7ₐllahᵃAllah
5:98:8ġafūrᵘⁿ(is) Oft-Forgiving,
5:98:9rraḥīmᵘⁿMost Merciful.
۝٩٨
Know that Allah is severe in penalty and that Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
5:99:3ₐlrrasūlⁱthe Messenger
5:99:4ʾillāexcept
5:99:5ₐlbalāġᵘthe conveyance.
5:99:6waₐllahᵘAnd Allah
5:99:7yaʕlamᵘknows
5:99:9tubdūnᵃyou reveal
5:99:10wamāand what
5:99:11taktumūnᵃyou conceal.
۝٩٩
Not upon the Messenger is [responsibility] except [for] notification. And Allah knows whatever you reveal and whatever you conceal.
5:100:3yastawī(are) equal
5:100:4ₐlḫabīθᵘthe evil
5:100:5waₐlṭṭayyibᵘand the good
5:100:7ʾaʕjabakᵃimpresses you
5:100:8kaθraẗᵘabundance
5:100:9ₐlḫabīθⁱ(of) the evil.
5:100:11ₐllahᵃAllah,
5:100:13ₐlʾalbābⁱ(of) understanding,
5:100:14laʕallakumso that you may
5:100:15tufliḥūnᵃ(be) successful."
۝١٠٠
Say, "Not equal are the evil and the good, although the abundance of evil might impress you." So fear Allah, O you of understanding, that you may be successful.
5:101:2ₐllaðīnᵃwho
5:101:4(Do) not
5:101:7ʾašyāʾᵃthings
5:101:9tubdᵃmade clear
5:101:11tasuʾkumit may distress you
5:101:12waʾinand if
5:101:14ʕanhāabout it
5:101:15ḥīnᵃwhen
5:101:16yunazzalᵘis being revealed
5:101:17ₐlqurʾānᵘthe Quran
5:101:18tubdᵃit would be made clear
5:101:20ʕafāhas (been) pardoned
5:101:21ₐllahᵘ(by) Allah
5:101:22ʕanhā[about] it,
5:101:23waₐllahᵘand Allah
5:101:24ġafūrᵘⁿ(is) Oft-Forgiving,
5:101:25ḥalīmᵘⁿAll-Forbearing.
۝١٠١
O you who have believed, do not ask about things which, if they are shown to you, will distress you. But if you ask about them while the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be shown to you. Allah has pardoned that which is past; and Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.
5:102:1qadIndeed,
5:102:2saʾalahāasked them
5:102:3qawmᵘⁿa people
5:102:5qablikumbefore you,
5:102:6θummᵃthen
5:102:7ʾaṣbaḥūthey became
5:102:8bihāthereby
5:102:9kāfirīnᵃdisbelievers.
۝١٠٢
A people asked such [questions] before you; then they became thereby disbelievers.
5:103:2jaʕalᵃhas (been) made
5:103:3ₐllahᵘ(by) Allah
5:103:5baḥīraẗⁱⁿa Bahirah
5:103:6walāand not
5:103:7sāʾibaẗⁱⁿa Saibah
5:103:8walāand not
5:103:9waṣīlaẗⁱⁿa Wasilah
5:103:10walāand not
5:103:11ḥāmⁱⁿa Hami.
5:103:12walākinnᵃ[And] but
5:103:13ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
5:103:14kafarūdisbelieved
5:103:15yaftarūnᵃthey invent
5:103:16ʕalāagainst
5:103:17ₐllahⁱAllah
5:103:18ₐlkaðibᵃthe lie,
5:103:19waʾakθaruhumand most of them
5:103:20(do) not
5:103:21yaʕqilūnᵃuse reason.
۝١٠٣
Allah has not appointed [such innovations as] bahirah or sa'ibah or wasilah or ham. But those who disbelieve invent falsehood about Allah, and most of them do not reason.
5:104:1waʾiðāAnd when
5:104:2qīlᵃit is said
5:104:3lahumto them,
5:104:7ʾanzalᵃhas (been) revealed
5:104:8ₐllahᵘ(by) Allah
5:104:9waʾilāand to
5:104:10ₐlrrasūlⁱthe Messenger,"
5:104:11qālūthey said,
5:104:12ḥasbunā"Sufficient for us
5:104:13(is) what
5:104:15ʕalayhⁱupon it
5:104:16ʾābāʾanāour forefathers."
5:104:17ʾawalawEven though
5:104:18kānᵃ(that)
5:104:19ʾābāʾuhumtheir forefathers
5:104:20(were) not
5:104:21yaʕlamūnᵃknowing
5:104:22šayʾaⁿanything
5:104:23walāand not
5:104:24yahtadūnᵃthey (were) guided?
۝١٠٤
And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger," they say, "Sufficient for us is that upon which we found our fathers." Even though their fathers knew nothing, nor were they guided?
5:105:2ₐllaðīnᵃwho
5:105:5ʾanfusakum(is to guard) yourselves.
5:105:7yaḍurrukumwill harm you
5:105:8mman(those) who
5:105:9ḍallᵃ(have gone) astray
5:105:11ᵢhtadaytumyou have been guided.
5:105:13ₐllahⁱAllah
5:105:14marjiʕukum(is) your return -
5:105:16fayunabbiʾukumthen He will inform you
5:105:17bimāof what
5:105:18kuntumyou used to
۝١٠٥
O you who have believed, upon you is [responsibility for] yourselves. Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided. To Allah is you return all together; then He will inform you of what you used to do.
5:106:2ₐllaðīnᵃwho
5:106:4šahādaẗᵘ(Take) testimony
5:106:7ḥaḍarᵃapproaches
5:106:8ʾaḥadakumᵘone of you
5:106:9ₐlmawtᵘ[the] death,
5:106:10ḥīnᵃ(at the) time (of making)
5:106:11ₐlwaṣiyyaẗⁱ[the] a will
5:106:14ʕadlⁱⁿjust,
5:106:15mminkumamong you,
5:106:17ʾāḫarānⁱtwo others
5:106:19ġayrikumother than you
5:106:22ḍarabtum(are) travel(ing)
5:106:24ₐlʾarḍⁱthe earth
5:106:25faʾaṣābatkumthen befalls you
5:106:26mmuṣībaẗᵘcalamity
5:106:27ₐlmawtⁱ(of) [the] death.
5:106:28taḥbisūnahumāDetain both of them
5:106:31ₐlṣṣalawẗⁱthe prayer
5:106:32fayuqsimānⁱand let them both swear
5:106:33biₐllahⁱby Allah
5:106:35ᵢrtabtumyou doubt,
5:106:37naštarīwe will exchange
5:106:39θamanaⁿa price
5:106:41kānᵃhe is
5:106:43qurbāa near relative,
5:106:44walāand not
5:106:45naktumᵘwe will conceal
5:106:46šahādaẗᵃtestimony
5:106:47ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah.
5:106:48ʾinnāIndeed, we
5:106:49ʾiðaⁿthen
5:106:50llaminᵃ(will) surely (be) of
5:106:51ₐlʾāθimīnᵃthe sinners."
۝١٠٦
O you who have believed, testimony [should be taken] among you when death approaches one of you at the time of bequest - [that of] two just men from among you or two others from outside if you are traveling through the land and the disaster of death should strike you. Detain them after the prayer and let them both swear by Allah if you doubt [their testimony, saying], "We will not exchange our oath for a price, even if he should be a near relative, and we will not withhold the testimony of Allah. Indeed, we would then be of the sinful."
5:107:1faʾinThen if
5:107:2ʕuθirᵃit is discovered
5:107:4ʾannahumāthat the two
5:107:5ᵢstaḥaqqā(were) guilty
5:107:6ʾiθmaⁿ(of) sin,
5:107:7faʾāḫarānⁱthen (let) two others
5:107:9maqāmahumā(in) their place
5:107:11ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
5:107:12ᵢstaḥaqqᵃhave a lawful right
5:107:13ʕalayhimᵘover them -
5:107:14ₐlʾawlayānⁱthe former two -
5:107:15fayuqsimānⁱand let them both swear
5:107:16biₐllahⁱby Allah
5:107:17lašahādatunā"Surely our testimony
5:107:18ʾaḥaqqᵘ(is) truer
5:107:20šahādatihimātestimony of the other two
5:107:21wamāand not
5:107:22ᵢʕtadaynāwe have transgressed.
5:107:23ʾinnāIndeed, we
5:107:24ʾiðaⁿthen
5:107:25llaminᵃ(will be) of
5:107:26ₐlẓẓālimīnᵃthe wrongdoers."
۝١٠٧
But if it is found that those two were guilty of perjury, let two others stand in their place [who are] foremost [in claim] from those who have a lawful right. And let them swear by Allah, "Our testimony is truer than their testimony, and we have not transgressed. Indeed, we would then be of the wrongdoers."
5:108:1ðālikᵃThat
5:108:2ʾadnā(is) closer
5:108:4yaʾtūthey will give
5:108:5biₐlššahādaẗⁱthe testimony
5:108:7wajhihāits (true) form
5:108:9yaḫāfūthey would fear
5:108:11turaddᵃwill be refuted
5:108:12ʾaymānᵘⁿᵐtheir oaths
5:108:14ʾaymānihimtheir (others) oaths.
5:108:16ₐllahᵃAllah
5:108:17waᵢsmaʕūand listen;
5:108:18waₐllahᵘand Allah
5:108:19(does) not
5:108:21ₐlqawmᵃthe people.
5:108:22ₐlfāsiqīnᵃthe defiantly disobedient.
۝١٠٨
That is more likely that they will give testimony according to its [true] objective, or [at least] they would fear that [other] oaths might be taken after their oaths. And fear Allah and listen; and Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.
