2:124:1waʾiðⁱAnd when
2:124:5bikalimātⁱⁿwith words
2:124:6faʾatammahunnᵃand he fulfilled them,
2:124:7qālᵃHe said,
2:124:8ʾinnī"Indeed I
2:124:9jāʕilukᵃ(am) the One to make you
2:124:10lilnnāsⁱfor the mankind
2:124:11ʾimāmaⁿa leader."
2:124:12qālᵃHe said,
2:124:13wamin"And from
2:124:14ðurriyyatīmy offspring?"
2:124:15qālᵃHe said,
2:124:16"(Does) not
2:124:18ʕahdīMy Covenant
2:124:19ₐlẓẓālimīnᵃ(to) the wrongdoers."
۝١٢٤
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. [Allah] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [Allah] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers."
2:125:1waʾiðAnd when
2:125:3ₐlbaytᵃthe House
2:125:4maθābaẗᵃⁿa place of return
2:125:5llilnnāsⁱfor mankind
2:125:6waʾamnaⁿand (a place of) security
2:125:7waᵢttaḫiðūand (said), "Take
2:125:8min[from]
2:125:9mmaqāmⁱ(the) standing place
2:125:10ʾibrāhimᵃ(of) Ibrahim,
2:125:11muṣallaⁿ(as) a place of prayer."
2:125:12waʕahidnāAnd We made a covenant
2:125:15waʾismāʕīlᵃand Ishmael
2:125:16ʾan[that],
2:125:17ṭahhirā"[You both] purify
2:125:18baytīᵃMy House
2:125:19lilṭṭāʾifīnᵃfor those who circumambulate
2:125:20waₐlʕākifīnᵃand those who seclude themselves for devotion and prayer
2:125:21waₐlrrukkaʕⁱand those who bow down
2:125:22ₐlssujūdⁱand those who prostrate."
۝١٢٥
And [mention] when We made the House a place of return for the people and [a place of] security. And take, [O believers], from the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer. And We charged Abraham and Ishmael, [saying], "Purify My House for those who perform Tawaf and those who are staying [there] for worship and those who bow and prostrate [in prayer]."
2:126:1waʾiðAnd when
2:126:3ʾibrāhimᵘIbrahim,
2:126:4rabbⁱ"My Lord
2:126:7baladaⁿa city
2:126:8ʾāminaⁿsecure
2:126:9waᵤrzuqand provide
2:126:10ʾahlahuits people
2:126:12ₐlθθamarātⁱfruits,
2:126:13man(to) whoever
2:126:14ʾāmanᵃbelieved
2:126:15minhumfrom them
2:126:16biₐllahⁱin Allah
2:126:17waₐlyawmⁱand the Day
2:126:18ₐlʾāḫirⁱthe Last,"
2:126:19qālᵃHe said,
2:126:20waman"And whoever
2:126:21kafarᵃdisbelieved,
2:126:22faʾumattiʕuhu[then] I will grant him enjoyment
2:126:23qalīlaⁿa little;
2:126:24θummᵃthen
2:126:25ʾaḍṭarruhuI will force him
2:126:27ʕaðābⁱ(the) punishment
2:126:28ₐlnnārⁱ(of) the Fire,
2:126:29wabiʾsᵃand evil
2:126:30ₐlmaṣīrᵘ(is) the destination.
۝١٢٦
And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this a secure city and provide its people with fruits - whoever of them believes in Allah and the Last Day." [Allah] said. "And whoever disbelieves - I will grant him enjoyment for a little; then I will force him to the punishment of the Fire, and wretched is the destination."
2:127:1waʾiðAnd when
2:127:2yarfaʕᵘ(was) raising
2:127:4ₐlqawāʕidᵃthe foundations
2:127:6ₐlbaytⁱthe House
2:127:7waʾismāʕīlᵘand Ishmael,
2:127:8rabbanā(saying), "Our Lord!
2:127:11ʾinnakᵃIndeed You!
2:127:12ʾantᵃ[You] (are)
2:127:13ₐlssamīʕᵘthe All-Hearing,
2:127:14ₐlʕalīmᵘthe All-Knowing.
۝١٢٧
And [mention] when Abraham was raising the foundations of the House and [with him] Ishmael, [saying], "Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing.
2:128:1rabbanāOur Lord!
2:128:2waᵢjʕalnā[and] Make us
2:128:3muslimaynⁱboth submissive
2:128:4lakᵃto You.
2:128:5waminAnd from
2:128:6ðurriyyatināour offspring
2:128:7ʾummaẗᵃⁿa community
2:128:8mmuslimaẗᵃⁿsubmissive
2:128:9llakᵃto You.
2:128:10waʾarināAnd show us
2:128:11manāsikanāour ways of worship
2:128:14ʾinnakᵃIndeed You!
2:128:15ʾantᵃ[You] (are)
2:128:16ₐlttawwābᵘthe Oft-returning,
2:128:17ₐlrraḥīmᵘthe Most Merciful.
۝١٢٨
Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.
2:129:1rabbanāOur Lord!
2:129:2waᵢbʕaθ[And] raise up
2:129:4rasūlaⁿa Messenger
2:129:6yatlū(who) will recite
2:129:8ʾāyātikᵃYour Verses
2:129:9wayuʕallimuhumᵘand will teach them
2:129:10ₐlkitābᵃthe Book
2:129:11waₐlḥikmaẗᵃand the wisdom
2:129:12wayuzakkīhimand purify them.
2:129:13ʾinnakᵃIndeed You!
2:129:14ʾantᵃYou (are)
2:129:15ₐlʕazīzᵘthe All-Mighty
2:129:16ₐlḥakīmᵘthe All-Wise."
۝١٢٩
Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
2:130:1wamanAnd who
2:130:2yarġabᵘwill turn away
2:130:4mmillaẗⁱ(the) religion
2:130:5ʾibrāhimᵃ(of) Ibrahim
2:130:6ʾillāexcept
2:130:8safihᵃfooled
2:130:10walaqadⁱAnd indeed
2:130:11ᵢṣṭafaynāhᵘWe chose him
2:130:13ₐlddunyāthe world,
2:130:14waʾinnahuand indeed he,
2:130:16ₐlʾāḫiraẗⁱthe Hereafter
2:130:17laminᵃsurely (will be) among
2:130:18ₐlṣṣāliḥīnᵃthe righteous.
۝١٣٠
And who would be averse to the religion of Abraham except one who makes a fool of himself. And We had chosen him in this world, and indeed he, in the Hereafter, will be among the righteous.
2:131:5ʾaslim"Submit (yourself),"
2:131:6qālᵃhe said,
2:131:7ʾaslamtᵘ"I (have) submitted (myself)
2:131:8lirabbⁱto (the) Lord
2:131:9ₐlʕālamīnᵃ(of) the worlds."
۝١٣١
When his Lord said to him, "Submit", he said "I have submitted [in Islam] to the Lord of the worlds."
2:132:1wawaṣṣāAnd enjoined
2:132:4banīhⁱ(upon) his sons
2:132:5wayaʕqūbᵘand Yaqub,
2:132:6yābanīīᵃ"O my sons!
2:132:7ʾinnᵃIndeed,
2:132:8ₐllahᵃAllah
2:132:9ᵢṣṭafāhas chosen
2:132:10lakumᵘfor you
2:132:11ₐlddīnᵃthe religion,
2:132:13tamūtunnᵃ(should) you die
2:132:15waʾantumwhile you
2:132:16mmuslimūnᵃ(are) submissive."
۝١٣٢
And Abraham instructed his sons [to do the same] and [so did] Jacob, [saying], "O my sons, indeed Allah has chosen for you this religion, so do not die except while you are Muslims."
2:133:2kuntumwere you
2:133:3šuhadāʾᵃwitnesses
2:133:5ḥaḍarᵃcame to
2:133:7ₐlmawtᵘ[the] death,
2:133:9qālᵃhe said
2:133:10libanīhⁱto his sons,
2:133:12taʕbudūnᵃwill you worship
2:133:14baʕdīafter me?"
2:133:15qālūThey said,
2:133:16naʕbudᵘ"We will worship
2:133:17ʾilāhakᵃyour God
2:133:18waʾilāhᵃand (the) God
2:133:19ʾābāʾikᵃ(of) your forefathers,
2:133:21waʾismāʕīlᵃand Ishmael
2:133:22waʾisḥāqᵃand Isaac -
2:133:24wāḥidaⁿOne.
2:133:25wanaḥnᵘAnd we
2:133:27muslimūnᵃ(are) submissive."
۝١٣٣
Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac - one God. And we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."
2:134:2ʾummaẗᵘⁿ(was) a community
2:134:3qad(which)
2:134:4ḫalathas passed away,
2:134:7kasabatit earned
2:134:8walakumand for you
2:134:10kasabtumyou have earned.
2:134:11walāAnd not
2:134:12tusʾalūnᵃyou will be asked
2:134:13ʕammāabout what
2:134:14kānūthey used to
۝١٣٤
That was a nation which has passed on. It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do.
2:135:1waqālūAnd they said,
2:135:5naṣārāChristians,
2:135:6tahtadū(then) you will be guided."
2:135:9millaẗᵃ(the) religion
2:135:10ʾibrāhimᵃ(of) Ibrahim,
2:135:11ḥanīfaⁿ(the) upright;
2:135:12wamāand not
2:135:13kānᵃhe was
2:135:15ₐlmušrikīnᵃthose who associated partners (with Allah)."
۝١٣٥
They say, "Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided." Say, "Rather, [we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists."
2:136:2ʾāmannā"We have believed
2:136:3biₐllahⁱin Allah
2:136:4wamāand what
2:136:5ʾunzilᵃ(is) revealed
2:136:7wamāand what
2:136:8ʾunzilᵃwas revealed
2:136:11waʾismāʕīlᵃand Ishmael
2:136:12waʾisḥāqᵃand Isaac
2:136:13wayaʕqūbᵃand Yaqub
2:136:14waₐlʾasbāṭⁱand the descendants,
2:136:16ʾūtīᵃwas given
2:136:17mūsā(to) Musa
2:136:20ʾūtīᵃwas given
2:136:21ₐlnnabiyyūnᵃ(to) the Prophets
2:136:23rrabbihimtheir Lord.
2:136:25nufarriqᵘwe make distinction
2:136:26baynᵃbetween
2:136:27ʾaḥadⁱⁿany
2:136:29wanaḥnᵘAnd we
2:136:31muslimūnᵃ(are) submissive."
۝١٣٦
Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."
2:137:2ʾāmanūthey believe[d]
2:137:3bimiθlⁱin (the) like
2:137:4(of) what
2:137:5ʾāmantumyou have believed
2:137:6bihiin [it],
2:137:7faqadⁱthen indeed,
2:137:8ᵢhtadawthey are (rightly) guided.
2:137:9wwaʾinBut if
2:137:10tawallawthey turn away,
2:137:11faʾinnamāthen only
2:137:13(are) in
2:137:14šiqāqⁱⁿdissension.
2:137:15fasayakfīkahumᵘSo will suffice you against them
2:137:16ₐllahᵘAllah,
2:137:17wahuwᵃand He
2:137:18ₐlssamīʕᵘ(is) the All-Hearing,
2:137:19ₐlʕalīmᵘthe All-Knowing.
۝١٣٧
So if they believe in the same as you believe in, then they have been [rightly] guided; but if they turn away, they are only in dissension, and Allah will be sufficient for you against them. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
2:138:1ṣibġaẗᵃ(The) color (religion)
2:138:2ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah!
2:138:4ʾaḥsanᵘ(is) better
2:138:5minᵃthan
2:138:6ₐllahⁱAllah
2:138:7ṣibġaẗᵃⁿat coloring?
2:138:8wanaḥnᵘAnd we
2:138:10ʕābidūnᵃ(are) worshippers.
۝١٣٨
[And say, "Ours is] the religion of Allah. And who is better than Allah in [ordaining] religion? And we are worshippers of Him."
2:139:2ʾatuḥājjūnanā"Do you argue with us
2:139:4ₐllahⁱAllah
2:139:5wahuwᵃwhile He
2:139:6rabbunā(is) our Lord
2:139:7warabbukumand your Lord?
2:139:8walanāAnd for us
2:139:9ʾaʕmālunā(are) our deeds
2:139:10walakumand for you
2:139:11ʾaʕmālukum(are) your deeds
2:139:12wanaḥnᵘand we
2:139:14muḫliṣūnᵃ(are) sincere.
۝١٣٩
Say, [O Muhammad], "Do you argue with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. And we are sincere [in deed and intention] to Him."
2:140:2taqūlūnᵃ(do) you say
2:140:3ʾinnᵃthat
2:140:5waʾismāʕīlᵃand Ishmael
2:140:6waʾisḥāqᵃand Isaac
2:140:7wayaʕqūbᵃand Yaqub
2:140:8waₐlʾasbāṭᵃand the descendants
2:140:12naṣārāChristians?"
2:140:14ʾaʾantum"Are you
2:140:15ʾaʕlamᵘbetter knowing
2:140:17ₐllahᵘ(is) Allah?"
2:140:19ʾaẓlamᵘ(is) more unjust
2:140:20mimmanthan (the one) who
2:140:21katamᵃconcealed
2:140:22šahādaẗᵃⁿa testimony
2:140:23ʕindahu(that) he has
2:140:25ₐllahⁱAllah?
2:140:26wamāAnd not
2:140:27ₐllahᵘ(is) Allah
2:140:28biġāfilⁱⁿunaware
2:140:29ʕammāof what
2:140:30taʕmalūnᵃyou do.
۝١٤٠
Or do you say that Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants were Jews or Christians? Say, "Are you more knowing or is Allah?" And who is more unjust than one who conceals a testimony he has from Allah? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.
