2:60:1waʾiðⁱAnd when
2:60:2ᵢstasqāasked (for) water
2:60:4liqawmihifor his people,
2:60:5faqulnā[so] We said,
2:60:6ᵢḍrib"Strike

2:60:8ₐlḥajarᵃthe stone."
2:60:9faᵢnfajaratThen gushed forth
2:60:10minhᵘfrom it
2:60:12ʕašraẗᵃtwelve

2:60:15ʕalimᵃknew

۝٦٠
And [recall] when Moses prayed for water for his people, so We said, "Strike with your staff the stone." And there gushed forth from it twelve springs, and every people knew its watering place. "Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption."
2:61:1waʾiðAnd when
2:61:2qultumyou said,
2:61:4lanNever (will)

2:61:23qālᵃHe said,
2:61:24ʾatastabdilūnᵃ"Would you exchange

2:61:37waḍuribatAnd were struck

2:61:45ðālikᵃThat (was)

2:61:52ₐlnnabiyyinᵃthe Prophets
2:61:53biġayrⁱwithout (any)

2:61:55ðālikᵃThat
2:61:56bimā(was) because
2:61:57ʕaṣawthey disobeyed
2:61:58wwakānūand they were
2:61:59yaʕtadūnᵃtransgressing.
۝٦١
And [recall] when you said, "O Moses, we can never endure one [kind of] food. So call upon your Lord to bring forth for us from the earth its green herbs and its cucumbers and its garlic and its lentils and its onions." [Moses] said, "Would you exchange what is better for what is less? Go into [any] settlement and indeed, you will have what you have asked." And they were covered with humiliation and poverty and returned with anger from Allah [upon them]. That was because they [repeatedly] disbelieved in the signs of Allah and killed the prophets without right. That was because they disobeyed and were [habitually] transgressing.
2:62:1ʾinnᵃIndeed,
2:62:2ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
2:62:4waₐllaðīnᵃand those who
2:62:5hādūbecame Jews
2:62:6waₐlnnaṣārāand the Christians
2:62:7waₐlṣṣābiʾīnᵃand the Sabians -
2:62:9ʾāmanᵃbelieved
2:62:10biₐllahⁱin Allah
2:62:11waₐlyawmⁱand the Day
2:62:12ₐlʾāḫirⁱ[the] Last
2:62:13waʕamilᵃand did
2:62:14ṣāliḥaⁿrighteous deeds,
2:62:15falahumso for them

2:62:18rabbihimtheir Lord
2:62:20ḫawfᵘⁿfear
2:62:22walāand not
2:62:24yaḥzanūnᵃwill grieve.
۝٦٢
Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.
2:63:1waʾiðAnd when
2:63:2ʾaḫaðnāWe took
2:63:3mīθāqakumyour covenant
2:63:4warafaʕnāand We raised
2:63:5fawqakumᵘover you
2:63:6ₐlṭṭūrᵃthe mount,
2:63:9ʾātaynākumWe have given you
2:63:10biquwwaẗⁱⁿwith strength,
2:63:11waᵤðkurūand remember
2:63:13fīhⁱ(is) in it,
2:63:14laʕallakumperhaps you
2:63:15tattaqūnᵃ(would become) righteous."
۝٦٣
And [recall] when We took your covenant, [O Children of Israel, to abide by the Torah] and We raised over you the mount, [saying], "Take what We have given you with determination and remember what is in it that perhaps you may become righteous."
2:64:1θummᵃThen
2:64:2tawallaytumyou turned away
2:64:3mminᵐfrom
2:64:4baʕdⁱafter
2:64:5ðālikᵃthat.
2:64:6falawlāSo if not
2:64:7faḍlᵘ(for the) Grace
2:64:8ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah
2:64:10waraḥmatuhuand His Mercy,
2:64:11lakuntumsurely you would have been
2:64:13ₐlḫāsirīnᵃthe losers.
۝٦٤
Then you turned away after that. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have been among the losers.
2:65:1walaqadAnd indeed,
2:65:2ʕalimtumᵘyou knew
2:65:3ₐllaðīnᵃthose who
2:65:4ᵢʕtadawtransgressed
2:65:5minkumamong you
2:65:7ₐlssabtⁱthe (matter of) Sabbath.
2:65:8faqulnāSo We said
2:65:9lahumto them,
2:65:11qiradaẗᵃⁿapes,
2:65:12ḫāsiʾīnᵃdespised."
۝٦٥
And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the sabbath, and We said to them, "Be apes, despised."
2:66:1fajaʕalnāhāSo We made it
2:66:2nakālaⁿa deterrent punishment
2:66:3llimāfor those
2:66:4baynᵃ(in) front
2:66:5yadayhā(of) them
2:66:6wamāand those
2:66:7ḫalfahāafter them
2:66:8wamawʕiẓaẗᵃⁿand an admonition
2:66:9llilmuttaqīnᵃfor those who fear (Allah).
۝٦٦
And We made it a deterrent punishment for those who were present and those who succeeded [them] and a lesson for those who fear Allah.
2:67:1waʾiðAnd when
2:67:2qālᵃsaid
2:67:4liqawmihito his people,
2:67:5ʾinnᵃ"Indeed,
2:67:6ₐllahᵃAllah
2:67:7yaʾmurukumcommands you
2:67:8ʾanthat
2:67:9taðbaḥūyou slaughter
2:67:10baqaraẗᵃⁿa cow."
2:67:12ʾatattaḫiðunā"Do you take us
2:67:13huzuwaⁿ(in) ridicule."
2:67:14qālᵃHe said,
2:67:15ʾaʕūðᵘ"I seek refuge

2:67:18ʾakūnᵃI be
2:67:19minᵃamong
2:67:20ₐljāhilīnᵃthe ignorant."
۝٦٧
And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you take us in ridicule?" He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant."
2:68:1qālūThey said,
2:68:2ᵤdʕᵘ"Pray
2:68:3lanāfor us
2:68:4rabbakᵃ(to) your Lord
2:68:5yubayyinto make clear
2:68:8hīᵃit (is)."
2:68:9qālᵃHe said,
2:68:10ʾinnahu"Indeed, He
2:68:11yaqūlᵘsays,
2:68:12ʾinnahā"[Indeed] it
2:68:13baqaraẗᵘⁿ(is) a cow
2:68:15fāriḍᵘⁿold
2:68:16walāand not
2:68:17bikrᵘⁿyoung,
2:68:18ʕawānᵘⁿᵐmiddle aged
2:68:19baynᵃbetween
2:68:20ðālikᵃthat,"
2:68:23tuʾmarūnᵃyou are commanded."
۝٦٨
They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is." [Moses] said, "[Allah] says, 'It is a cow which is neither old nor virgin, but median between that,' so do what you are commanded."
2:69:1qālūThey said,
2:69:2ᵤdʕᵘ"Pray
2:69:3lanāfor us
2:69:4rabbakᵃ(to) your Lord
2:69:5yubayyinto make clear
2:69:8lawnuhā(is) its color."
2:69:9qālᵃHe said,
2:69:10ʾinnahu"Indeed, He
2:69:11yaqūlᵘsays,
2:69:12ʾinnahā'[Indeed] it is
2:69:13baqaraẗᵘⁿa cow
2:69:14ṣafrāʾᵘyellow,
2:69:15fāqiʕᵘⁿbright

2:69:17tasurrᵘpleasing

۝٦٩
They said, "Call upon your Lord to show us what is her color." He said, "He says, 'It is a yellow cow, bright in color - pleasing to the observers.' "
2:70:1qālūThey said,
2:70:2ᵤdʕᵘ"Pray
2:70:3lanāfor us
2:70:4rabbakᵃ(to) your Lord
2:70:5yubayyinto make clear
2:70:8hīᵃit (is).
2:70:9ʾinnᵃIndeed,
2:70:10ₐlbaqarᵃ[the] cows
2:70:11tašābahᵃlook alike
2:70:13waʾinnāAnd indeed we,
2:70:15šāʾᵃwills
2:70:16ₐllahᵘAllah,
2:70:17lamuhtadūnᵃ(will) surely be those who are guided."
۝٧٠
They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is. Indeed, [all] cows look alike to us. And indeed we, if Allah wills, will be guided."
2:71:1qālᵃHe said,
2:71:2ʾinnahu"Indeed, He
2:71:3yaqūlᵘsays,
2:71:4ʾinnahā"[Indeed] it
2:71:5baqaraẗᵘⁿ(is) a cow
2:71:7ðalūlᵘⁿtrained
2:71:8tuθīrᵘto plough
2:71:9ₐlʾarḍᵃthe earth,
2:71:10walāand not
2:71:12ₐlḥarθᵃthe field;
2:71:13musallamaẗᵘⁿsound,
2:71:15šiyaẗᵃblemish
2:71:16fīhāin it."
2:71:17qālūThey said,
2:71:19jiʾtᵃyou have come
2:71:20biₐlḥaqqⁱwith the truth."
2:71:21faðabaḥūhāSo they slaughtered it,
2:71:22wamāand not
2:71:23kādūthey were near
2:71:24yafʕalūnᵃ(to) doing (it).
۝٧١
He said, "He says, 'It is a cow neither trained to plow the earth nor to irrigate the field, one free from fault with no spot upon her.' " They said, "Now you have come with the truth." So they slaughtered her, but they could hardly do it.
2:72:1waʾiðAnd when
2:72:2qataltumyou killed
2:72:3nafsaⁿa man,
2:72:4faᵢddārāʾtumthen you disputed
2:72:5fīhāconcerning it,
2:72:6waₐllahᵘbut Allah
2:72:7muḫrijᵘⁿ(is) the One Who brought forth
2:72:9kuntumyou were
2:72:10taktumūnᵃconcealing.
۝٧٢
And [recall] when you slew a man and disputed over it, but Allah was to bring out that which you were concealing.
2:73:1faqulnāSo We said,
2:73:2ᵢḍribūhᵘ"Strike him
2:73:3bibaʕḍihāwith a part of it."
2:73:4kaðālikᵃLike this
2:73:5yuḥāⁱrevives
2:73:6ₐllahᵘAllah
2:73:7ₐlmawtāthe dead,
2:73:8wayurīkumand shows you
2:73:9ʾāyātihiHis Signs,
2:73:10laʕallakumperhaps you may
2:73:11taʕqilūnᵃuse your intellect.
۝٧٣
So, We said, "Strike the slain man with part of it." Thus does Allah bring the dead to life, and He shows you His signs that you might reason.
2:74:1θummᵃThen
2:74:2qasathardened
2:74:3qulūbukumyour hearts
2:74:4mminᵐfrom
2:74:5baʕdⁱafter
2:74:6ðālikᵃthat
2:74:7fahīᵃso they
2:74:8kaₐlḥijāraẗⁱ(became) like [the] stones
2:74:10ʾašaddᵘstronger
2:74:11qaswaẗᵃⁿ(in) hardness.
2:74:12waʾinnᵃAnd indeed,
2:74:13minᵃfrom
2:74:14ₐlḥijāraẗⁱthe stones
2:74:15lamācertainly (there are some) which
2:74:16yatafajjarᵘgush forth
2:74:17minhᵘfrom it
2:74:18ₐlʾanhārᵘ[the] rivers,
2:74:19waʾinnᵃand indeed,
2:74:20minhāfrom them
2:74:21lamācertainly (there are some) which
2:74:22yaššaqqaqᵘsplit,
2:74:23fayaḫrujᵘso comes out
2:74:24minhᵘfrom it
2:74:25ₐlmāʾᵘ[the] water,
2:74:26waʾinnᵃand indeed,
2:74:27minhāfrom them
2:74:28lamācertainly (there are some) which
2:74:29yahbiṭᵘfall down
2:74:31ḫašyaẗⁱfear
2:74:32ₐllahⁱ(of) Allah.
2:74:33wamāAnd not
2:74:34ₐllahᵘ(is) Allah
2:74:35biġāfilⁱⁿunaware
2:74:36ʕammāof what
2:74:37taʕmalūnᵃyou do.
۝٧٤
Then your hearts became hardened after that, being like stones or even harder. For indeed, there are stones from which rivers burst forth, and there are some of them that split open and water comes out, and there are some of them that fall down for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.
